J’adore Dior! No one adored the Lady Dior quite like Princess Di. The Lady Dior is now known as one of the most beloved bags of the past three decades. Designed by Gianfranco Ferré in 1994 under the name ‘ChouChou’, it was a gift to Diana from The First Lady of France before it was officially released. It was later renamed after the Peoples’s Princess.

Princess Diana is on all our minds as we wait in anticipation for fabulous auction this Thursday June 27th!

We have three beautiful Lady Dior’s available here at The Way We Wore. All three are now live on our website!

A ‘70s Trigère masterpiece waiting to join your collection. 🪭 Hollywood stars and European royalty worshipped the divine Cult of Trigère for over 50 years. In honor of the icon who was once anointed by the press as “The Queen of Couture”, we thought we’d share a handful of our favorite Pauline Trigère editorial photos from the archives.

🪭 Bonus Anecdote
In 1961 in the midst of the civil rights era, Trigère became the first major House to hire a black model, Beverly Valdes, as house model. In response to retail accounts that consequently cancelled their orders, Pauline Trigère scoffed, “We won’t miss them.”

At The Hollywood Museum at the opening of their exhibition of Joseff of Hollywood. If you’re not familiar with the massive amount of fabulous jewelry they created starting from the Golden Age of Hollywood to now- this show is a must see. Tina and Kristen Joseff shared stories. And did you know that Joseff of Hollywood made parts for aerospace during WW2 until 2018?

☘️ Green & Gucci! ☘️

We love a floral number and this lush 2000s Gucci Silk Dress with bamboo hardware is no exception. Flowers, butterflies and dragonflies throughout sings “spring”! This rare Bennis Edwards floral tapestry boot and purse set is verdant with leaves and romantic florals. Boots are an approximate narrow 7.5 US.

I write this post with sadness in my heart. Yesterday it came to our attention that one of our employees has been independently engaging in behavior that is not in synch with the high standards and ethics we conduct our business with. We have begun to address the issues brought to our attention that immediately impact our business and would hope to now continue to move forward in the spectacular fashion that we have always maintained in our 43 years in business. I can say that our relationship with this employee has always been solely as an employer and employee. We absolutely have no connection with any of this employees outside affairs.

We will also say that while we cannot be at all times aware of how our staff conducts themselves on their own time -this experience has made us more vigilant and cautious with our ongoing and new associations. This experience is such an anomaly in our history that it has left us shocked and stunned.

Lastly, to clarify we have 2 employees of the same name. Sarah Bergman has been our store manager since the store opened. She has an “h” at the end of her name. She is NOT the employee in question.

Thank you for your continued support.
