On this day, 9 years ago, a 20 year old me did my first stand up set. My first joke: "I'm here on St. Patrick's Day because I'm 20, so I'm not old enough to drink. All I can do is pinch people who aren't wearing green. That's lame though, right? We're Irish, shouldn't we be doing something like punching people in the throat?" It got a laugh from the 10ish people in the audience.

This last year I haven't done much stand up. I have a hard time explaining it. It's not that I don't love it, I do. I love the newer jokes I've written, about online dating (written before Ryan) and jokes about living with bi-polar disorder. But I feel like I could be writing more and I've just been having major writers block. I have a movie script I wrote, one in my head, and a new TV show in my head that I know, if I can just execute them right, will be amazing pieces of work I'd be proud of. The writers block started a few years ago, it wasn't that bad, and has progressed this last year. Maybe I've been to happy to write. I don't know. But this year I want to dedicate myself to getting out of the writers block spiral I've been in- whether it's writing new jokes or writing scripts. I need to keep the creativity in me alive and well.

Thank you to everyone who's supported me over these 9 years, whether you've been with me from the beginning or just recently discovered me (thanks Pandora!) I haven't quit, and I never will. I'm just figuring things out right now.
