We had the pleasure of having Justice, our Cal State Long Beach student worker who is studying Food Sciences. He has truly been a gem. We challenged him in so many ways and equipped him with skills he can take anywhere. We can’t wait to see his continued growth and successes. Until next Summer, Justice🫡.

One thing I’ve learned over the past year is that you have to be really specific when it comes to asking God for things because he will make it rain in the most incredible ways.

Urban Comfort Foods has grown from serving 150 unhoused community members to now 600 in just one year! That’s 3 meals a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

When our community partners open new shelters, interim housing or recuperative care programs, we are there to serve.

With all of this amazing growth, I was able to create 12 new jobs and pay out bonuses to my team 4th quarter of last year for the very first time.

Let’s just say, year 5 is looking very promising and more rewarding than ever before!

Hey Kin! We are so excited to announce that our Family-Style Meal Prep are coming soon! Meals are priced as low as $35 for a family of 4, with a portion of revenue supporting feeding the unhoused. Good food with a great cause!!! Stay tuned!!!!

Today’s meal distribution was a total success! The families received baked chicken, mac n cheese and collard greens! Can’t wait for next week’s distributions!

Today during class we tried to beat the heat by preparing hearty, refreshing acai bowls. We discussed the nutritional benefits and affordability with proper portioning. Thank you Spark family for having us back!

We have gone through so much as a company since 2020, especially while going from a Partnership to me being 100% owner. Through it all, I’m happy to say that I’m still standing tall with my name and integrity intact. God has allowed us to grow in ways I couldn’t imagine on my own. We have soooo much in store for the very near future and beyond as we continue to partner with our foundation, , and both new and long-term community partners. Thank you all for your love and support.

Today we catered for employees for . We served fried chicken, bbq Cajun chicken, collard greens, mac n cheese and rosemary candies yams….and a side of cornbread. Alls to say it was a total success.

Catering for our community partners who are on a continued fight to end homelessness is one of the most rewarding experiences for us. Through , we’ve made so many friends who we now serve through our cooking classes and Sponsored Summer Food Service Program () at their various properties around LA County. It’s been a heavy couple of weeks with the multiple mass shootings. The compound vicarious trauma is all too much. We are praying for all the families that are affected by this mindless tragedy🥺🙏🏾.

We were so impressed with the knife skills of these little beauties. They did so well!

Chef Max’s Senior Cooking class was a huge hit at the Carmelitos Housing Projects today. Today’s participants learned about using veggies as meat substitutions and they absolutely loved it! We’re elated to know that our classes are helping to increase food equity and accessibility here in Long Beach!

We had a ball cooking with our Jr. Chefs from Spark at Midtown, here in Long Beach! They did so well cutting, sautéing, mixing and more! They learned about sanitation, kitchen safety and how to make the best Veggie Toastadas in honor of of course!
