Our 2nd Sunday Jazz Sessions are loads of fun! Tomorrow, Sunday 10/9, we are anticipating with much excitement our Special Guests, Father & Son Duo, Dan & Andrew Barrett performing "Brass & Ivories!"
Dan Barrett started playing trombone at age 11. He moved to NY in '83 and toured with Widespread Jazz Orchestra and was a frequent guest at Eddie Condon's Jazz Club. He eventually joined the King of Swing, Benny Goodman's last orchestra! He later formed the successful Howard Alden-Dan Barrett Quartet. Dan has many motion pictures under his belt, playing trombone, including Brighton Beach Memoirs, and has played Carnegie Hall five times!
Andrew Barrett, coming from a musical family, specializes in American popular piano styles of the 1912-1929 period. As a pianist for over 20 years with traditional jazz and swing bands, Andrew is currently one of the Main Street Piano Players at Disneyland Anaheim. His favorite ragtime influences are "Buddy Burton, "Jelly" Johnson and many others. You can find playlists of the popular pianists of the teens & 20's on his YouTube channel, "Great Pianists."
Father & Son come together this Sunday at Alva's Showroom to entertain you by combining their talents and you won't want to miss it!
