Good to see so many of the brethren along with their wives/partners last evening for our Summer Solstice curry night, a great time was had by all with excellent food, wonderful company, fun and laughter throughout; even our Worshipful Master who was faced with his threatened dried bread and water added to the fun of the event.

Post dinner, some even managed to sojourn across the road to continue until late in the evening enjoying a warm and balmy evening's weather before parting until another day.

At the Lodge of St. Cuthberga 622 in Wimborne, a new member was warmly welcomed into Dorset Freemasonry on Monday evening. Simon, a former Royal Marine, was proposed by his friend and fellow ex-Royal Marine, Ken. The Lodge's Master, Robert, presided over his first meeting of the year, and all his officers performed admirably. It was Robert's second time in the chair, and he conducted the evening's proceedings with great skill and composure.

One of the evening's highlights was Bro Maison, who joined the lodge in April and delivered an outstanding presentation of the Working Tools to the candidate.

The Master of All Souls Lodge 170 in Weymouth and Friendship and Sincerity 472 in Shaftsbury attended as official guests, with the Master of Lodge 472 being escorted by several Freemasons from his own lodge.

The next meeting is scheduled for July and will involve another initiation ceremony.

Numbering more than 13,000 men, the paratroopers were flown from bases in southern England to the Cotentin Peninsula in approximately 925 C-47 airplanes.

As part of this year’s D-Day 80 commemorations, we’re taking 20 Normandy veterans back to France to participate in events marking 80 years since the beginning of the Battle of Normandy.

This morning they departed from Portsmouth along with a specialist team of RBL staff, including nurses and carers, who will be dedicated to their care 24-hours-a-day for the duration of the trip.

While in France the veterans will have the opportunity to attend a range of events including RBL’s Service of Commemoration at Bayeux War Cemetery and the British National D-Day 80 Event at the British Normandy Memorial.

Fore! ⛳☄️🏌 Last month in Burbank, Masons participated in the second Inaugural SCJ Golf Tournament hosted by Southern California Jurisdiction - Order of DeMolay. Altogether thanks to sponsors, donors, and supporters, the tournament raised $5000 to benefit the youth order and its programs! Many congrats to our raffle winners and tournament winners, Worshipfuls Sean Mantucca, Russ Hennings, and Mark Pressey, who showed off their award medals at a GLO reception that night!

Our provincial publicity team were delighted to team up with their opposite numbers in the Provincial Grand Lodge of Northamptonshire & Huntingdonshire at the Cambridgeshire Show at Abbots Ripton. Lots of conversations, lots of smiles and a good day out by all accounts.

A memorable charity event recently took place at Freemasons Hall in Shaftesbury, co-hosted by the Lodge of Friendship and Sincerity 472 and the local branch of Rotary.

The evening was centred around the theme of St. George, with guests encouraged to dress in the patriotic colours of red, white, and blue. Attendees enjoyed a delightful three-course English meal and were entertained with live cover music by The Cabin Band.

The event featured an exciting raffle with a variety of prizes, including a generous hamper from Virginia Hayward, gammon joints from Prime Cuts, and a goodie bag from Tesco, as well as Botox injections valued at over £100 from Dyosa Aesthetics in Gillingham. The raffle raised an impressive sum of £797.05, all of which was donated to the local charity BaDCO The Brave and Determined Company, which provides support for early intervention for individuals dealing with mental health challenges.

Whether participating in events, fundraising for a charitable cause or volunteering for public or community organisations, service is at the very heart of Freemasonry. Our members make valuable contributions by donating time, resources and skills.

The most important direction in Freemasonry is the EAST.
