Harlem was my hometown since a child and this candle embodies so many different elements to my upbringing.

I was trying to figure out a name for this candle. It’s fresh, minty and just mood-boosting. After having a hard time trying to figure out a name I decided to watch a little tv. As soon as I turned the tv on one of my favorite shows came on, it was The Fresh Prince. I think would approve but that's just my wishful thinking kicking in lol.

This fragrance reminds me of the time my car got a flat tire down in the Mojave Desert. I was stranded for about two hours before I was rescued by a stranger driving a UPS truck. Before the rescue, I got to see an abundance of cactus plants. The earthiness of the desert and cacti smell always stuck with me.

Thank you thank you! I decided to step out my comfort zone and start something cool like making candles. The idea started 2018 but the company was launched just two weeks ago. I also wanted to show my daughter this entrepreneurship thing because I feel it’s important these days. I wish my dad exposed me to starting a company at 10 years old lol. But only two weeks in and the support from you guys and gals was very unexpected. I’m super grateful and promise you it will only get better. My babygirl has her own candle she helped design coming out for Valentine’s Day. And we will be adding new products and scents to the brand. Why should I bother to trim the wick in my candle?

Keeping your wick properly trimmed will save you money by making your candle last longer and will prevent your candle from smoking….. you know, that nasty soot that turns your jar black….

Why does keeping the wick trimmed make the candle last longer?

The fragrance that comes off a scented candle into your room actually ev***rates out of the liquid wax pool on top of your candle. The fragrance and wax burned up by the candle flame turns into odorless carbon dioxide and water v***r. So the candle flame’s only job is to create that liquid wax pool. A little flame does that job very well. A big flame just burns up your candle faster than need be and burns up fragrance instead of letting you smell it.
