This week, Lower School students were transported to 19th-century Paris with a captivating music lesson on Impressionism! Thanks to the talented Ko Ni Choi, harpist and Brentwood parent, along with violinist Philip Viaman and cellist Simone Vitucci, students explored the magic of music and art.

The strings trio demonstrated distinctive musical elements of the period β€” a glittery sound, slow bow strokes, and plucking strings β€” and encouraged students to think about how the music makes them feel and what images it evokes.

Presenting BTC Brawls!
To fight, or not to fight, that is the question. βš”οΈ The Brentwood Theater Company (BTC) recently debuted "BTC Brawls," an afternoon of Shakespearean combat performances. Seeing a need to perform Shakespeare authentically, the BTC brought in New York-based fight choreographer and martial artist Jared Kirby to bring Shakespeare's most iconic combat scenes to life. Kirby, who has choreographed fights off-Broadway, nationally, in London, and in Sydney, taught a six-hour stage combat workshop in December, during which students learned the basics of effective stage combat. He helped direct students to present each scene with an eye toward combat. The result of this collaboration became "BTC Brawls." See what it looks like in action. 🎭
