Meet Kenny Peng!

Kenny Peng is one of Vitalacy’s more recent hires and has been with us for a year. Working as an Embedded Engineer, Kenny attended the University of Southern California, receiving a BS in Electrical Engineering.

Kenny’s interest in learning is pervasive. He hosts his own personal engineering website focused on research topics like signal processing, audio visualization, image recoloring, and fluid simulations. Kenny updates his website with information everyone with internet access can use to make their own engineering marvels.

"My favorite part of working here is that I have been allowed to explore many different ideas, ones that I’ve wanted to try but also ideas that come from other people. This isn’t just restricted to development. Even when the work is just debugging, it requires thoughtfully engaging with another person’s idea (or even my own idea for the second time). In the end, these ideas have an impact because they are directly applied to my work.”

How Does a Hospital Monitor Hand Hygiene? - Direct observation: This involves having trained observers watch healthcare workers and patients for #handhygiene opportunities and assess whether hand hygiene is performed correctly. - Electronic monitoring systems: These systems use wearable technology or smart sensors to track and record hand hygiene events, providing real-time data on hand hygiene performance. - Self-assessment: This involves having healthcare workers self-report their hand hygiene practices using surveys or other forms of feedback. - Audits: This involves reviewing records and data to assess hand hygiene practices and identify areas for improvement. - Feedback and education: Regular feedback and education on hand hygiene practices can help healthcare workers understand the importance of hand hygiene and improve their practices. Regardless of the method used, it is important to monitor hand hygiene in a systematic, consistent and impartial manner to ensure hand hygiene practices are effective and patients and staff are kept safe.
