Facebook to buy $100 million worth of unpaid invoices from 30,000 small businesses owned by women and minorities Facebook announced a $100-million commitment to a program that supports small businesses owned by women and minorities by buying up their outstanding invoices.
It’s not that women and minorities are not starting businesses, in fact, quite the opposite: 40% of new businesses last year were started by women, and 47% of those were minority women. Latinos are the fastest growing group of entrepreneurs in the US. According to Stanford University, the number of Latino business owners grew 34% over the last 10 years compared to just 1% for all others.
