Singers! Looking to spread some cheer where it's most needed this holiday season? 2Cents is seeking singers (both traditional and jazz) interested in joining our annual outreach-based Caroling group in performing for various shelters, supportive housing facilities and community events all over LA in December. Every year we partner with PATH, Skid Row Housing, LA Family Housing and more to sing for the homeless communities of Los Angeles and surrounding areas. At these facilities and events, our audiences can range from ten to a couple hundred, both adults and children, many of which have never had the experience of hearing live carolers before. This is a truly worthwhile and inspiring experience with potentially very little time commitment (depending on how comfortable you are learning harmonies and how many shows you want to do). Most all schedules can be accommodated! Note we don't wear any period costumes, we dress subtly, semi-formal with splashes of holiday colors. Feel free to share with friends who might be interested. If you haven't sung with the 2Cents Carolers before, read on to learn more... and don't wait! Please email [email protected] right away if you want to sing with us this year! Do you... ...read sheet music, teach yourself vocal parts on your own? ...learn vocal parts on your own using recorded tracks? ...prefer to be taught vocal parts but are then comfortable rehearsing them on your own? ANY OF THE ABOVE ARE OKAY BY US! We offer a handful of rehearsals for those who want to be taught the music and provide sheet music and vocal tracks so you can learn/rehearse on your own. There are about 15-20 formal songs in our repertoire. Nothing needs to be memorized, we always sing from our books. SCHEDULING: OPTIONAL REHEARSALS If you want us to TEACH you the music, or if you want to sing JAZZ (see below), you should be available for FOUR or more of these rehearsals (we will cancel a few once we figure out what's best for most): WED 11/13 (eve) FR
