I am so excited and honored to let you all know that ONE WISH, the official theme I created for the Make-A-Wish of Alaska & Washington Foundation just won not one… but TWO silver medals at the prestigious 2023 Global Music Awards international competition. It won Best Contemporary Classical and Best Listener Impact categories. A huge thank you to the jury of the GMAs for the honor and to the musicians and singers who helped make this theme soar really high and of course for entrusting me with creating a music theme to represent them🥹❤️💫

and have joined countless creators and professionals who serve, celebrate, and advocate in the name of music year-round. It’s an honor be part of this year’s new member class.

The small studio rack remodel is coming to near completion with the arrival of the Strymon Zuma to power all of my Moogerfoogers. Looking forward to that Ultra low noise they are talking about 🥰. BUT, if you’re going to have your foogers powered by the Zuma, do not forget to get your 2.1 mm Reverse Polarity Cables ☝️🤓. Got all six of them!

Sometimes the stars ✨ align perfectly. As I go through my studio rack arrangement, last night I realized that the new set was going to require that I rack mount the last 3 of my Moogerfoogers… and of course, the rack mount kit for is no longer in production and long discontinued. As I desperately look everywhere, my best option becomes some store in Germany and total cost with shipping would be… $178 😭🤬 Let alone guys on reverb that sell it too for outrageous prices because it is “discontinued…” It’s a piece of metal people! 😓 But I decided to give one last shot to Craigslist, and a guy just posted 23 min prior that he has one for sell. And he agrees to sell it to me at the price it used to be. Picked it up this morning! 😎✌️

Hope you all had a great Valentine’s Day celebration. Jennifer and I were able to do a nice get away in Malibu with views of the ocean at one of the nicest restaurant in town. It felt really good to be able to do something for ourselves like that, first time in along time!

My favorite mic for tracking. Neumann U87 Ai. Hands down the best. It works on EVERYTHING. I don’t care what they say. Vocal, violin, viola, cello, clarinet, guitars… it makes everything sound beautiful. Paired with my Avalon 737, it’s unbeatable. I have spoken 😎🫡

Just unboxed my engraved Hollywood Music in Media Awards trophée 🏆 today!!! The thing is beautiful! What a wonderful early Christmas present 🎁 🥰 A huge thank you to Brent Harvey and the HMMA Jury for this meaningful recognition. I was honored to be nominated and win along side so many wonderful composers 🥹. I want to believe somewhere out there my ancestor—who’s paintings were the inspiration for this album—can see this. A huge thank you to all the musicians who helped me bring this music to an award-worthy level, my wife Jennifer for her unconditional love and all of you my dear friends for your support. Great to attend Netflix’s very special event to showcase the wonderful music scores of some of their best and most anticipated films and shows. Alexandre Desplat, Danny Elfman and Nathan Johnson’s music put the house on fire, performed live by some LA’s finest musicians. Perfect end for a rare rainy day in LA. And great occasion to look classy dapper 😎🥰

Today my latest music cover, a Tribute to Vangelis is out everywhere! As you may know, we recently lost composer Vangelis. He was a huge influence on me growing up and so to cope with his passing, I decided to produce a faithful cover of one my favorite themes from him: “Conquest of Paradise.” I added my own little touch to it of course, a larger orchestra, and ethnic instruments, pan flutes and indigenous chants, which I always thought would make a nice add-on to this fabulous theme. Recreating the singing choir and the lush sweeping synthesizer sounds was a lot of fun! And cherry on the cake: I did it all in 5.1 surround (available soon!) But for now you can enjoy it on Spotify, Apple Music, Deezer and everywhere else you like to stream your music from. Hope you enjoy! #1492

Happy Bastille Day! My French music album is officially out, what a perfect way to celebrate French culture! I composed these themes to bring ancestor’s paintings to life with music, hoping for the listener to be transported back to rural France of the late 1800s, early 1900s. My ancestor was contemporary of Monet and the apprentice of Isidore Pils. I’ve the privilege of working with some of the finest musicians in the business in this project! Charles-Henri Avelange’s new album was created to be a 5.1 immersive experience. A tour de force—knowing this was produced during the pandemic confinement—and the musicians were all recorded separately. Stay tuned the album will be releasing this Tuesday July 12th!
