Fortuny (1871 – 1949) was quite literally, born to his art. The son of a well-known Spanish painter, he studied drawing, painting, sculpture, chemistry and dyes.
His studies in dyes helped him achieve groundbreaking designs, dresses that change colours and shimmer during movements.
