I would like you to meet a true HERO. This is Lily. She looks like a princess, but she is a total bad ass! Lilly was BORN with a form of cancer so rare there was not even a diagnosis for it. She fought through ADULT chemotherapy and multiple surgeries. She had part of her chest removed. And she is standing tall and cancer free today, having beaten an enemy that would devastate most adults. Lilly is the reason I do what I do with St. Baldrick's. She is a hero in my book and it was a privilege to meet her at a St. Baldrick's event in Los Angeles a few years ago! Watching her laugh and dance and celebrate was the best part of my year, hands down!
As I've done for the past fifteen years, I'll be on the stage with American Haircuts at The Ivy Buckhead (our new home) on March 14th, shaving heads and raising money for the St. Baldrick's Foundation, which provides grants for critical live-saving childhood cancer research. Since 2010, our event has raised over $1.6 million dollars and we hope to add another $100,000 to that total. I hope to see ALL OF MY FRIENDS at the event.
Since shaving my head is less than ideal for my acting career, if I hit my personal $1,500 goal, I'll have the St. Baldrick's Foundation mascot, Lucky, tattooed on my calf. If I double that goal to $3,000, the hair comes off too!

These shots were taken during our first American Haircuts' St. Baldrick's Foundation in 2010. That year, 171 men and women shaved their heads in solidarity with kids who have cancer and raised $79,415 for kids cancer research. Since that first event, over 2,400 heads have been shaved and we've raised nearly $1.7 million dollars!

The pandemic had a devastati.ng effect on our event... our home pub Rí Rá closed and people wouldn't gather in large numbers for a few years. We had some smaller events and have NEVER missed a year! For 2024, we've found a new home at The Ivy Buckhead and hope to return to our former glory!!
Because of the acting career, shaving my head would be a bad idea, so if I meet my personal goal, I'm having the St. Baldrick's mascot tattooed on my body! My goal this year is $2,500!! But... if I hit the amount I raised back in 2010 ($6,400), I'll get the tattoo AND shave my head.

American Haircuts' St. Baldrick's Headshaving Event for Childhood Cancer Research is back for out 15th year and e're thrilled we have a new home - The Ivy in Buckhead. We'll be shaving heads and having fun in the upstairs bar and patio with music and, of course, lots of folks getting their bald on! It's a great time for a great cause -- putting and end to childhood cancer!

Since 2010, we've shaved over 2,400 heads and raised over $1.6 million dollars for the St. Baldrick's Foundation. This year will be bigger and balder than ever as we attempt to shave 200 heads and raise over $150,000.

St. Baldrick’s is the worlds largest volunteer-driven fundraising program and funds more in childhood cancer research grants than any organization except the U.S. Government. Donors and volunteers have enabled the foundation to fund over $340 million in grants and new treatments are being found every day as we work toward a cure. Each grant goes through a rigorous scientific review process, ensuring every dollar has the greatest possible impact for children with cancer.

One of the most fun things about yesterday's St. Baldrick's event at Casey's Irish Pub in downtown LA was the support of the LAPD. Several officers stopped by and entertained the kid (and a few even shaved their heads in support of kids with cancer). I credit (blame) Macklemore for kicking off the men's undercut trend that, thankfully, has started going away. Made popular in his music video for 'Thrift Shop,' the undercut is a haircut that, while cool for awhile, has needed to be retired for some time now. Watching the live finale of The Voice last night on NBC and I think Zayn Malik nails what I predict will be the haircut trend for summer 2016. On the show, the former One Direction star, took his style in a new direction by showing up with a high skin fade with a finger-length top. This haircut is a complete 180 degree turn from the fussy pompadour trend of the past year or so and it is a perfect look for summer.
