Wow, what a journey it’s been for us the last 4 years. Full of highs and lows and definitely trials but so much goodness and joy in between the tears and sweat we’ve put into @cafeaficionado_la . This feature means so much to us and really is a representation of our love for what we do and who we do it with. Our pop up was birthed as a way to tangibly bless our friends first and than our community, when @ninongsdessertlab called and said they were closing their doors, we were crushed for them. Knowing @justkissa since we were in high school and her family business made it hit closer to home knowing what she was going through. I had been to @ninongsdessertlab brick and mortar so many times in my young adulthood, her mom made my cake when Reggie and I first met and they are one of the pioneers of Filipino food shops in the valley, way back when they were in Granada hills. I’m so glad that we started this Journey with Kissa and Charlie, it was our honor to share our space with people who have been in the game for over a decade! We wanted them to still be seen in our community cause they are worthy of that! To see our shop featured on @abc7la is a dream come true, and to share the spotlight with @ninongsdessertlab and hearing @macramadebymel speak on what we do, the process of planning and doing it even after a year later is so worth it. To see friends flourish, to see friends sell out, gain new customers or to see the friendships that have come from our events means so much to us. It’s our joy to serve our community and a joy to open our doors to so many vendors. And look at God and how far he’s brought us! What was once a dream to serve our city is now our reality and we’re grateful everyday to be part of this community! . . Thank you to all our friends who helped us build this community staple, who invested their time to help us from the ground up , who have shown up and cheered us on and loved us! Good morning fam! It’s Saturday, the weathers nice and we got some special treats for you today! First we are carrying keto cheesecake & sugar free macaroons by our friend Aleah! She had some leftover from yesterday’s PopUp and we’d love to bless her by selling her out! Her Berry Nutty Cheesecake is $6 and her macaroons are $4 a pack or 2 for $7 or 3 for $10! So swing by today and grab some!! Second our friend from @yourfabulous_boutique will be poppin up inside at our community table! She has cute Clothes (plus size included!) and accessories! After our espresso machine broke down Saturday, we were devastated and lost a ton of sales due to not being able to sell any espresso based drinks. It’s been super hard lately but we’re back in business and grateful for the people who still continued to support us this past weekend! This is such a sigh of relief because our staff is our main concern, we love them so much and really care for them and want them to be able to work. So we’re thankful we were able to fix our machine ourselves. Owning a business can be so tough sometimes and hard to navigate when you feel like everything is going against you but we have such a supportive village of customers, friends and staff that walks along side us!
