Commemorating the end of slavery in the United States, Juneteenth is a powerful reminder of the resilience and perseverance of the Black American community. Importantly as we celebrate Freedom Day, we also reflect on the progress that must continue to create a society that is more equal and more free. Acadia is committed to doing our part to honor the lived experiences of the Black community and – through partnerships like The Jason Foundation, Inc. -Youth Su***de Prevention and Awareness and NAMI – continues to work toward greater mental and behavioral health equity for all those in need.

We are thrilled to share the recent groundbreaking of a project in Bowling Green that will provide best-in-class care for the community! The Med Center Health High Street Tower is a 180,000 sq. ft. expansion and will include new space for labor and delivery, women and children’s health, and neonatal care. Additionally, the new facility will house the first Level 3 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) for the region.

Proudly designed by Stengel Hill, High Street Tower will increase accessibility to healthcare in the Bowling Green community. We are excited to be working with Kelley Construction, Inc. to bring this vital project to life! To learn more about this state-of-the-art project, follow the link below.

Senior Principal, and Co-Founder of SHA, Chip Hill, along with other team members, recently attended the symbolic beam signing ceremony for a new mental health facility, in partnership with Acadia Healthcare, located in St. Paul, Minnesota!

Capitol Park Mental Health Hospital, a state-of-the-art 144-bed facility, will offer inpatient and outpatient care and marks a significant step in expanding access to exceptional behavioral health services in the area.

We are honored to lead the design efforts on this project and continue to build on our commitment to addressing the gap in mental health care. This project is a testament to our dedication to delivering innovative healthcare solutions nationwide!

The facility will be 22,000 square feet and will offer convenient access to primary care, specialty care, and a full range of outpatient diagnostic imaging services. We are proud to partner with Med Center Health in designing spaces that foster well-being and accessibility to state-of-the-art care!

We're thrilled to share our latest project in collaboration with UK HealthCare and Tempur Sealy International! The Tempur Sealy Pediatric Sleep Center is a state-of-the-art facility dedicated to helping young patients with sleep disorders and underlying health conditions.

Our team designed a child-friendly environment to ease anxiety and promote restful sleep for children of all ages. This innovative center boasts advanced technology for sleep studies and diagnosis, led by a team of specialized pediatric sleep medicine professionals.

This project is a true testament to the power of collaboration in improving children's health through innovative and thoughtful design. We're proud to play a role in ensuring better sleep and a brighter future for Kentucky's young patients and their families!

Exciting times at Stengel Hill! We are proud to announce the groundbreaking of a state of the art, 144 bed behavioral health hospital in partnership with Acadia Healthcare and Tufts Medicine. This project marks a significant step in expanding access to exceptional behavioral health services in the greater Boston area.

Not only will the facility provide access to quality behavioral health services, but it will also serve as a teaching hospital for psychiatry and other behavioral health professionals. Abbi Wolfe, architect at Stengel Hill, has been working with the UK College of Medicine and UK College of Design on a project that recently broke ground in Santo Domingo, Ecuador! The team worked to receive a grant from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) to expand the nonprofit collaborative Centro de Salud Hombro a Hombro health center as an educational and empowerment site.

The grant funds a new facility to house an onsite medical laboratory, adult and pediatric rehabilitation center, oral health services, primary care ultrasound program, women’s wellness clinic that fosters gender equality, leadership and socioeconomic inclusion, refugee support, and academic exchanges.

The center will transform an underserved community facing poverty, low immunization rates,limited prenatal care, and other public health challenges. At Stengel Hill Architecture, we are proud to volunteer our healthcare design expertise to improve communities and build a healthier future.

Putting our skills to the test at Topgolf Louisville! ⛳ The Stengel Hill Architecture Louisville Office had a blast with some friendly competition and team bonding!

We recently attended the ACHE Kentucky Chapter event at Owensboro Health, where we participated in a thought-provoking seminar titled "Building the hospital of tomorrow: Rehabilitate, Renovate, or Replace?" alongside a distinguished panel of healthcare facility management executives.

The panel spoke on deferred maintenance, risk and criticality, infrastructure investment metrics, ESG and related topics as inputs into those big decisions. The discussions offered valuable insights into the critical decisions shaping the future of healthcare facilities.

We also got the exciting opportunity to tour Healthforce One. It is an innovative approach to fostering a pipeline of future healthcare professionals through a state-of-the-art rolling education platform and mobile clinic complete with immersive learning experiences, and best in class technology. This platform, highlights diverse and rewarding career opportunities while also serving both urban and rural communities.
