Kentuckiana Regional Planning & Development Agency KIPDA, the Louisville Metro Office for Aging and Disabled Citizens and WLKY News teamed up for the ninth consecutive year to bring relief from summer heat to our community's older adults and individuals with disabilities.
Brown Cancer Center donated $1,000 to the event and offered information on cancer screenings, primary care and more during the event.

A huge thank you to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and the Bachman Subaru team for warming the hearts (and laps) of patients at the Brown Cancer Center. They recently delivered boxes of Subaru Loves to Care blankets for a second consecutive year for use at all three Brown Cancer Center locations.

Margie Baylis came to Brown Cancer Center looking for hope after a lung cancer diagnosis. She became one of the first patients in a clinical trial to receive TILs for lung cancer.
Since then, TILs has been FDA approved for metastatic melanoma, with the Brown Cancer Center leading the way as one of the first 30 authorized treatment centers in the country.

For a third year, Brown Cancer Center patients will be featured at Louisville Football's Cancer Awareness Game for a "Marching Together" halftime show. Three cancer survivors will get to share their stories on the jumbotron and watch the University of Louisville Cardinal Marching Band perform their favorite song from the field at halftime.

Brown Cancer Center recently hosted its annual Brown Cancer Center Celebration honoring Employees of the Year and recognizing the excellent work that happens within oncology services.
The event first started because of the Shapira Nursing Excellence Award and has grown to recognize someone from each division. This year's Shapira Award was presented to Natalie Garcia from radiation oncology. Congratulations to all the award winners!
