It is with deep sadness to share with you the passing of our sister Helen Bogochow, a longtme, life member of the Auxiliary VFW who was often seen preparing meals for meetings, events and other programs at the post on Plain street alongside her daughter Barbara Golden, also a longtime life member, as well as many of her grandchildren and great grand children in that kitchen or running around the hall while she was preparing something wonderful for all members of both the Auxiliary, the VFW and countless patrons over the decades to enjoy. She was always seen alongside the love of her life her husband Walter "Wally" Bogochow at every observance, parade, memorial and so much more over the years. May god bless her entire family at this difficult time.

We are looking for members to attend the ribbon cutting ceremony for the new park across from the Riley School at 50 Douglas Rd on November 1st at 5:30pm. Please let either president Donna Tevepaugh or Sr. Vice President Kristen Jordan know if you will be attending.
Our members Natalie and Debbie have been hard at work knitting these cozy hats for veterans and the homeless to help keep them warm in the coming months while Kymberlee is busy getting together large bags full of all sorts of necessities she's named "You Matter Bags" that she will be handing out in December so even while our new building is under construction we are still hard at work getting veterans needs met.

Time and date for August's meeting which will also be at Donna's home tbd but we hope to see as many as possible either in person or virtually through Zoom.

90 more pairs of boxer shorts donated by Auxiliary VFW post 662 are ready to head to our veterans in desperate need at the Bedford VA hospital thanks to a generous grant from Veterans Assisting Veterans and the VAVS officer Mary Williams who will be sure they get to these veterans. Our hospitalized veterans are in constant need of new underwear, undershirts, socks, toiletries and other necessities which is where much of our fundraising efforts go towards. We donated 90 pairs to the hospital workshop as well that went to other veterans also in desperate need so if you could drop off a new pack of boxer shorts, white pocket Tee under shirts, all white crew socks, full sized soaps, shampoos, deodorant, shaving cream/gel, sanitary napkins and other feminine hygiene products, toothpaste and/or toothbrushes to any VFW or to any member of an Auxiliary VFW we will be sure they get to a veteran in need. Financial donations are always welcomed as well then we will do the running around for you.
