Start a Storage System: Keep all your medicines in one spot -- on their own shelf or in a labeled bin. Put them somewhere cool and dry where you're sure to see them, but out of the reach of kids and pets. Check the labels every 6 months and get rid of drugs past the expiration date. Throw away meds that are left over from illnesses you don't have anymore. Ask your pharmacist how to safely dispose of them.
Do not use medicines after the expiration date. When medicines are expired, or are not longer needed, dispose of them properly.
One time a family member came to me, and I could tell she was nervous to talk about whatever was bothering her. I told her to speak freely and not to feel embarrassed. Turns out she had vaginitis, and she wanted to know if I could recommend a lubricant that wouldn't worsen her symptoms. I asked a few questions and then walked her through everything, from the types of lubricant that would work best to how to properly use it.
Drinking unsafe water can lead to water-borne diseases such as cholera, diarrhea, hepatitis A, typhoid, and polio. Globally, at least 2 billion people use a drinking water source contaminated with f***s. Check with your water concessionaire and water refilling station to ensure that the water you're drinking is safe. In a setting where you are unsure of your water source, boil your water for at least one minute. This will destroy harmful organisms in the water. Let it cool naturally before drinking.
You probably use an alarm clock to wake up in the morning so why not use one to remind yourself to take your medications? You can easily set an alarm on your phone, your watch, or your actual alarm clock to remind you when it's time to take your meds.
If you need more help remembering to take your meds, consider using an alarming medication reminder, which can remind you to take your pills or to head to a doctor's appointment.
