A great send off yesterday for our Mackinaw City Fire Chief of 45 years. You will be missed by all. Thank you to all emergency crews from around the area who showed up to support. There were about 50 emergency vehicles and countless emergency personnel in attendance that made it appropriate in honoring a legend. R.I.P. Fred William Thompson Jr. and while you're up there, be sure to "sprinkle the infield" (that's a term he used when he wanted to buy the bar a round). Also, thank you to the Mackinaw City Fire Department for picking up everyone's tab at the American Legion last night. We think it was Fred's way of sprinkling the infield one last time, even though we think we flooded it instead. A great celebration. Just what Fred would have wanted. Wanna try the "best wings ever" according to most who have? Some travel miles to order them. Some order 60 wings and then drive them all the way to the state of Wyoming to their grandson who loves them. Some ask for the secret recipe and our response is "sweet with some heat". We would even think that Shaq himself would get excited about our wings, but easy there big fella, you'll have to wait your turn. Enjoy the Day!
