Working on ground polls while lunging! Chief and Autumn have come so far since I last came out. This sweet boy is gonna be such a looker 🤩 Love seeing clients grow together!
Working on energy vs intention with Ramili. Took her a bit to come in but she started to think it was okay in the end. 💕
Working on making a connection with Onen! Onen has major trust issues. With all the horses I work with, I want to make sure I get to know them before making them work. If I don’t have there trust what’s the point! Onen took almost our entire session before he decided to come to me and to follow. I got Onen to walk a full lunge circle around me in the end, with out his little tantrum. Everyone welcome Onen to Silverline 💗
Lolita and Dune worked on trail riding today. Came across water and decided to make it a training moment. Lolita is already experienced in trails but she likes to paw in water. For those who don’t know pawing usually ends up to rolling in the water. Dune has never been in water, but he has been on the trails a few times. Both horses walked right through without stalling or avoiding. Proud 🥲
Yesterday we spent the afternoon with North Winds Rescue and Healing. Dune got to meet the babies and they were very submissive! For those who don’t know babies do this when they meet a higher up hurd member and or a more dominant hurd member. It’s called Clacking
Dune had his vet appointment today and was very sleepy! 😴 Some good but not so good news at the end of the appointment… Our gofundme is still up! If you would still like to donate please do! We love and are thankful for all the help. Update soon💕
Training sessions are not always black and white. Something was definitely off in our session from yesterday. Which we will be trying to figure out the issue that’s causing this behavior. Issues like this can progress into dangerous habits for us and the horses.
Everyone meet Ramili! Ramili has had a few training sessions with us! We have been working on a few different things. Most recently we have worked on is getting use to cross ties, while behaving. So far we have had one session with cross tying and she already has improved! What was she doing before? Ramili had been pawing, constantly dancing/walking over you, and even head tossing. Here is a video just two days after our session! Completely different attitude, we will wait to see what her farrier thinks next visit.
Happy Monday everyone! I hope you all had amazing Thanksgiving! Dune update: Dune is officially Cantering! We couldn’t be more proud of this boy. Amber has been so amazing working with him and giving him all the patience we could ask for! Yes he is still learning, so it’s not perfect, but I mean look at him go!😍🤩
Dune had his first “trail ride” today! We where a little jumpy in the beginning but he mellowed right out. It’s truly amazing what a horse will do when they trust us! “If you are going to teach a horse something and have a good relationship, you don’t make him learn it -you let him learn it.” ~Ray Hunt
