I started my working career as a mortician and funeral director in 2002. The majority of my working life has been to help people with the two most stressful topics: death and money. In the past 10 years, I have been helping clients with all types of insurance needs including auto and home insurance. In 2021, I decided to start my own business. I wanted to focus on the thing I care the most about:
Nearly 1 in 3 men and women will develop cancer during their lifetime and approximately every 40 seconds, an American will have a heart attack. With medical advances, more and more people survive these diseases, yet many do not have coverage in place to help them with medical bills and loss of income while they recover.

Happy Friday!! 😀 It's NATIONAL CLEAN OUT YOUR MEDICINE💊 CABINET DAY!
National Clean Out Your Medicine Cabinet Day occurs annually on the third Friday in April. The day aims to raise awareness and effectively rid homes of unused or expired prescriptions and over-the-counter medications sitting in medicine cabinets, nightstands, or kitchen cabinets that have the potential for misuse or abuse by family members, friends, or visitors.
DOING IT THE RIGHT WAY:
How you dispose of your expired or unused medications is just as important as why. Environmental studies show that flushed medications flow into our water supply. They negatively impact the fish🐟 we eat and the water🫗we drink. When discarded in the trash🗑, medications leach into and contaminate the soil🌱.
At-home drug disposal solutions offer a simple, convenient and effective way of disposing of unwanted medications. If you have large quantities of leftover medications or as a supplement to at-home drug disposal, you may also consider participating in the Drug Enforcement Agency’s (DEA’s) National Drug Takeback Day generally held in the spring and fall of each year.
HOW TO OBSERVE CLEAN OUT YOUR MEDICINE CABINET DAY:
💊 Take time during National Clean Out Your Medicine Cabinet
Day to help remove your home of risks associated with leftover
medications and do your part to help fight drug addiction.
💊 Review your medications—as well as those of your pets🐕
wherever you store them. Medicine cabinet-Nightstand
Kitchen cabinets.
💊 Then easily and effectively dispose of any leftover or expired
medications by using an at-home disposal solution like
DisposeRx.

Happy Wednesday!! 😀 It's NO LIMITS FOR DEAF CHILDREN🦻👧 DAY!
No Limits For Deaf Children Day is observed annually on April 17th. Provided the right platform and encouragement, chuldren who are deaf can achieve almost anything they choose! This is meant to honor and recognize hearing-impaired infants across the United States. A day like this creates awareness about the abundance of potential in deaf kids. No Limits For Deaf Children Day is a date to empower youngsters with hearing disabilities.
HISTORY OF NO LIMITS FOR DEAF CHILDREN DAY:
Deafness is a medical condition wherein a person is unable to hear and understand speech. It has no particular date of origin and has different levels of severity, each with its own characteristics. For instance, while profound deafness means that even the highest sounds might not be heard, total deafness means that no sound at all can be detected by an individual.
There are millions of people worldwide who live with deafness 🦻or loss of hearing. In the United States alone, hearing impairments affect around one in 20 Americans. A significant chunk of this number consists of deaf children👧. While there are several resources available to help those with hearing impairments, learning new ways to communicate and include children with hearing problems are still being discovered.
Dr. Michelle Christie recognized this gap in society and its treatment of deaf children and decided to spur change. Dr. Christie created an after-school program to help children with hearing loss develop communication skills, expand vocabulary and grammar, and understand character development. She recognized the lack of opportunities for children with hearing loss and helped to improve their speaking abilities in a fun and non-academic setting.
Having helped innumerable deaf children, enabling them to comfortably enter into the hearing world by role-playing, growing creativity, and honing public speaking skills, Dr. Christie went on to extend the program and opened up the "No Limits Center", which provides services for low-income school-age, deaf children and their families. She has brought a significant difference in these children’s lives and helped them realize their potential.
With the right resources and opportunities, children with hearing impairments can reach the stars⭐!

Happy Monday!! 😀 It's NATIONAL SIGN LANGUAGE🤏🫳 DAY!!
National ASL Day takes place on April 15th every year to celebrate American Sign Language. American Sign Language is used by those who cannot hear 👂or speak 🫢— often due to being deaf. The universality of sign language has helped people to communicate across the language barriers. Though the written word is also a way to communicate, it is time-consuming — especially when a message needs to be given fast. American Sign Language is also used by those who can speak and hear but need to communicate with those who cannot.
HISTORY OF NATIONAL ASL DAY:
The history of American Sign Language is over 200 years old. In the year 1815, a school for the deaf was established hoping to create an accessible language for those who could not hear or speak. It was very rudimentary at first. Sign language emerged as a combination of several sign languages (that are still in use today), such as Native American Sign Language, French Sign Language, and Martha’s Vineyard Sign Language. With the help of these pre-existing sign languages, American Sign Language (A.S.L.) was born.
Since the time American Sign Language was created, it has been enthusiastically accepted throughout the world. Today, American Sign Language is used in Canada, all across America, and has even found its way to countries in Central Africa, West Africa, Southeast Asia, and France.
Thanks to A.S.L., people are now able to communicate with each other without feeling “hopeless” or “useless” like others did before its emergence. American Sign Language has become a tool of communication for even those with various speech impairments. While American Sign Language is used as the official sign language of news broadcasts, the language is also being taught as a subject/module in many educational institutes around the world!

Happy Wednesday!! 😀 It's NATIONAL YOUTH HIV AND AIDS ❤️AWARENESS DAY!
National Youth HIV and AIDS Awareness Day is celebrated on April 10th. This day aims to raise awareness, generate conversations, and spotlight the work being done to reduce HIV and AIDS among young people. HIV/AIDS among youth is a bigger problem than many believe it to be,. According to the morst recent statistics, released in 2021 19% of all new HIV/Aids cases are reported in youth , ages 13-24! It is very important that we educate our youth and encourage peer-to-peer education to help prevent future generations from contracting this awful disease. This is not just a government obligation, we all have our role to play in creating awareness and saving lives.
HISTORY OF NATIONAL YOUTH HIV AND AIDS AWARENESS DAY:
It is believed that HIV originally came from a virus particular to chimpanzees in West Africa during the 1930s. Humans conrracted it through blood. Over the decades, the virus spread through Africa, Asia, and other parts of the world. Until the 1980s, it was not known how many people were infected with HIV or developed AIDS. The problem was that HIV was not discovered and its transmission was not accompanied by noticeable signs or symptoms.
Rare types of pneumonia, cancer, and other illnesses were being reported to doctors in the early 1980s and, it was then that the world became aware of HIV and AIDS. Nowadays, the virus has spread all over the world🌎 and approximately 38 million people are currently living with HIV. Moreover, since the beginning of the epidemic, tens of millions of people have died of AIDS-related causes.
In 1996, researcher Dr. Mark Wainberg contributed to the development of a drug being used to treat HIV, called ‘3TC.’ This was a combination drug therapy, which brought about an immediate decline of between 60% — 80% in rates of AIDS-related deaths and hospitalization. The problem was that not many patients could afford it. It was not until 2000 that the “UNAIDS” negotiated with five pharmaceutical companies to reduce the cost of HIV medication for developing countries. The truth is that the problem with this disease has not yet ended. National Youth HIV and AIDS Awareness Day, is a day to educate the public about the impact of HIV and AIDS on young people. The purpose is to highlight the HIV prevention, treatment, and care campaigns for young people in the U.S.

Happy Friday!! 😀 It's NATIONAL SELF-CARE DAY!!💆♀️
National Self-Care Day is observed every year on April 5th, nationwide. In the hustle and bustle of life, we tend to put our needs and well-being on the back burner at times. Taking care of one’s self is integral to keep functioning properly. Our minds and bodies require adequate rest and care to achieve optimal health and well-being. This day emphasizes the importance of self-care as the basis for good health. It’s also a day when individuals are encouraged to prioritize self-care and add it into their daily routine!
HISTORY OF NATIONAL SELF CARE DAY:
‘Self-care’ is the act of caring for oneself through means that help us feel our healthiest and happiest. It has become the most common form of healthy living and allows us to do something that will otherwise be considered selfish — prioritizing ourselves. It has existed since the dawn of mankind, before notions of medicine, therapy, or other healthcare systems, when humans had to rely on themselves to achieve optimal health through practical means. Self-care was originally used for institutionalized patients, to help them develop self-worth through acts of personal care and preservation. It became a popular term in the medical field to truly understand mental awareness concepts like post-traumatic stress and to help patients suffering from such conditions navigate their way through life.
Modern self-care as we now understand it was popularized by the civil rights movement of the Black Panther Party in the 1960s. It began with the party meeting the needs of community members through the establishment of health clinics, food distribution, and creating programs at a time when it was even harder for people belonging to the minority sections to gain access to healthcare. The concept became even more personal when leaders of the group adopted a more mindful approach to avoid activist burnout. They encouraged activists, leaders, and other members of the community to prioritize themselves and their mental and emotional states through activities like yoga🧘and meditation.
Today self-care has become a global approach to catering to one’s needs and is encouraged through any means that helps you feel your best. Chicago-based development coach, Laura Schwartz, is the pioneer of National Self-Care Day and has created the holiday to remind us to take a break and put ourselves first.

Happy Saturday!! 😀 It's EASTER WEEKEND!😇
Easter is observed on the first Sunday following the full moon after the vernal equinox. Considered Christianity's most important holy day, it celebrates the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Depending on which calendar a church follows, some will celebrate the holiday earlier than others.
Leading up to Easter Sunday is an entire season of observances beginning with Ash Wednesday, Lent's official beginning. Lent is a time of fasting and reflection, which represents the time Jesus spent in the wilderness for 40 days. Many know this as a time when Christians give something up for Lent.
Then during Holy Week, the Sunday before Easter is known as Palm Sunday. It commemorates Jesus's entry into Jerusalem on a donkey just five days before the Romans crucified Him. Maundy Thursday remembers Jesus's last supper; Good Friday is the day of the crucifixion; Holy Saturday is the period between the crucifixion and the resurrection; and Easter Sunday.
HOW TO OBSERVE EASTER:
⛪ Attend an Easter Service at your home Church or visit another Church.
🌞 Some churches conduct sunrise services.
🥚 Dye eggs with children and have an Easter egg🧺 hunt.
🧺 Local communities also hold annual egg hunts. So check l ocallnewspapers, and
community listings for dates and times.
📲 Use to share on social media.
EASTER HISTORY:
Before Easter (Pascha), Passover was the primary holy day celebrated; however, Christianity closely links the two holidays. Jesus's last supper was a Passover meal. By the 2nd century, Orthodox Christians also celebrated Pascha alongside Passover as well as pagan spring festivals.
The Easter Bunny 🐰tradition comes from medieval Germany, where the Osterhase or Easter Hare would lay its colorful eggs in nests prepared by children. In the 18th-century, settling in the Dutch Pennsylvania countryside, immigrants brought this fable and tradition to the United States.
Dying eggs 🥚is a tradition that dates back thousands of years across many cultures. Eggs symbolize rebirth, fertility, and life springing forth. Today Easter egg hunts take place across the country. It is not unusual to see children in their Sunday best scrambling to find as many colorful eggs as possible!
It's GOOD FRIDAY!😇
The Friday before Easter commemorates the Crucifixion of Jesus Christ in the Christian Faith and is called Good Friday.
Christians around the world 🌏recall the biblical story of Jesus's crucifixion on this day. The day goes by other names as well, such as Holy Friday, Black Friday, and Great Friday. Though sources conflict, the phrase "Good Friday" may have been derived from "God's Friday,".
The observance is central to the Christian holy season that leads up to Easter when Jesus Christ was resurrected. While Easter has become a traditional celebration in the secular world, Good Friday has remained a holy and spiritual observance.
HOW TO OBSERVE GOOD FRIDAY:
⛪️ Attend Easter Service.
☀️ Some denominations have a Sunrise Service
😇 Others spend the day in meditative reflection.
⛪️ Some churches will fast, selected hymns are chosen for services
and a black cloth is draped over the altar and cross.

Happy Wednesday!! 😀It's AMERICAN RED CROSS🩸GIVING DAY!
American Red Cross Giving Day is observed every fourth Wednesday in March and this year, it falls on March 27th. American Red Cross Giving Day is an opportunity for people to come together and support and help the urgent humanitarian needs of the American Red Cross. The American Red Cross was created to help whoever was in need, without any discrimination. The organization was created to provide support and assistance to the wounded on the battlefield and endeavors both nationally and internationally to prevent and alleviate suffering wherever it is found.
HISTORY OF AMERICAN RED🩸CROSS GIVING DAY:
First established in June 2015, the American Red Cross Giving Day strives to bring people together to support those in need. It is a day to bring in public support for humanitarian aid in whichever way possible. They accept donations as well as volunteers and even teach people how to save lives. They train people to be able to administer first aid treatment to victims in various kinds of situations so that they are equipped to save lives if the need arises.
Henry Dunant started the international Red Cross and the Red Crescent movement in 1863. Dunant was upset by the loss of lives during the 1859 Battle of Solferino. He proposed national relief societies, which would be made up of volunteers trained during peacetime to provide neutral and impartial help to those in need, bringing relief during times of war. A committee was established in Geneva and the charter for the Red Cross was drawn up in 1863. Later, he proposed that countries adopt an international agreement that would recognize the status of medical services and the wounded on the battlefield. This was the original Geneva Convention, and it was adopted in 1864.
Soon the British Red Cross came into being. In August 1870, during the Franco-Prussian War, a resolution was passed for the formation of the British National Society for Aid to the Sick and Wounded. In 1905, it was renamed the British Red Cross.
