Traditionally coffee tables are 16-18" tall. However, since I try to create based on what I have the tables I create vary in height. Many currently available are shorter than traditional coffee tables. These are great if you are someone who often sits on the floor (to eat, write, play board games), or if you have a smaller room you are using it in. The shorter table somehow makes the room appear larger.
