Our final graduate shoutout goes to our favorite Bubblr enthusiast, Joely Swanson! Earning a B.S. in Genetics and Genomics, she plans on taking a gap year before pursuing graduate school! Joely played a big role as Fundraising chair, and can always be found in her boots and Zach Bryan hat (surprised she didnāt wear āem off the dock)š¤ . Her PBs include a 39 ft jump and 270 trick run! Here he is Mr. Mouthguard himself! AKA Slim, AKA The Library Lurkerš, AKA Concrete Cowboyš¤ , but most of us know him as Sam (The Dawg ) Strachan. Strachanās dedication to his academics earned him his B.S. of Biomedical engineering, but his enternal clout from frequenting the College Library may be equally as valuable to him. Watch your mouth around this guy because heās going to the University of Utah School of Dentistry to soak up all the dental experience he can for his post graduate degreešØāš«. When he isnāt fighting demons in the library he becomes one on the waterš. Dawning his tight black āslendy suitā that many came to fear, this apparition would aerodynamically swerve the bouys eventually spooking the competition with a PB of 1@ 36mph 28ā off. Slim was also known for his curly blond hair spinning, twisting, and twirling on top of that water looking like someone stirring a bowl of ramenš . In part with his famous Kevin Jack impression, Sam was able to complete some fantastic inverts, spins, and twists earning him up to 1500+ pointsā¦sometimesā¦ š¤·. Besides having a spot in the Guinness book of Word records, Samās crowning achievement filled the greatest cavity in any colligate skierās heart: the rare feat of a 100ft PB jump š Due to the serious coaching (barking) from his favorite jump coach appropriately called Sam (also referred to as dawg) on shore. Mr. Consistent has put up these numbers over many years of skiing for us, and Sam has multiple Overall Skier awards that bestow honor to his show ski heritage š„. There is no filler, veneer, or prosthetic that can replace this guy; he is truly one of our favorite teammates and he will be missedā„ļø Sam Strachan
Todayās grad shoutout goes to Ben Schulz! Graduating with a degree in economics and a certificate in business, heās hoping to go into commercial real estate. Despite never coming to a tournament (lame š„±), he was our wakeboard captain and was frequently found napping at his teammatesā residencesš¤. But, have no fear, he could easily be woken up with the beginning chords of āSweet Home Alabama!ā A show skier too, Ben skied at Legoland last summer and is on the Muskego Water Bugs! Heās wakeboarded in Arizona, Portugal, and more, and we canāt wait to see what lake heās headed to nextš«. Weāll for sure miss him and his Borat impressions, and youāre looking for him this summer, try hitting up Idle Isle Park or Danny Haskells. Cheers and good luck! š»ā„ļø
You might recognize him from his incredible hop dock attempt (see previous post if not!) or as the man behind the tournament venmo requests that we all get 5 months lateāitās Mikey! Heās graduating with a degree in Economics and a certificate in Computer Science. Not only was Mikey a key part of our team as Treasurer for two seasons, but he was a friendly face to all that weāre sure gonna missš„¹. Heāll be pursuing a career in financial advising and aims to retire before 35 to become a stay-at-home dadš¤. We canāt wait to see all that you do!šā¤ļø
Sending good luck to , .artang, and the rest of our Midwest ski family down at All Stars this weekend!š©·š„
