Just got an update! The decoy seems to be working 😁

I had an intriguing request to make a hornet’s nest decoy! This is a first for me but I figured what the heck and gave it a try!

Apparently wasps and hornets are territorial and won’t build a new nest if they believe one exists. The real nest should be removed before hanging the decoy.

I’m uncertain about the outcome, but I’ll keep you posted on the results!

After a VERY LONG 7 months, my FIL is home, where he wants to be. His 7 month journey is a long story for another time, but the last 4 1/2 months he’d been at BrightStar Senior Living (Assisted Living/Memory Care) where the entire staff had been incredible. He had great care and support from everyone. I will miss them as they became family to me because I was there almost every day taking my MIL to see my FIL.
As a thank you gift to all 22 of them, I gave them each my handmade Deluxe Spa sets, dish cloths & scrubbie plus my new Rose Pot Scrubbie (a pattern I created ☺️)! *See the pictures
I truly can’t thank them enough 🩷

Okay….so I REALLY hate getting my picture taken but my Steph took this picture after Amelia picked out her pillow with her bear and I wanted to share!

While I had the honor and privilege to make these memory bears and pillows, I’m not gonna lie, this was a tough project for me! There were lots of my tears falling on these creations 😥

This past January 17th, my son’s best friend and roommate, passed away unexpectedly of a cardiac event at the young age of 38…in fact he had just celebrated his birthday January 1st.

Dave was a RN at Children’s Hospital of Minnesota. He had a huge heart and cared deeply for his young patients. So that inspired me to use nursing fabric for the bear’s arms. One of Dave’s favorite passions was baseball for sure and then he liked to golf so that’s why I chose baseball and golf fabrics for the legs.

Besides Dave’s parents, siblings (their families), aunts, uncles and cousins, he leaves behind his beloved daughter Amelia and step kids Graden and Madi🩷

Dave will be remembered for his sense of humor and the smiles and laughter he brought to others. I miss you so much my little 🧚 💙

A goodbye gift I made for a special nurse that had been taking care of my FIL! Good luck Nina🩷

❄️ FYI…I’m warning you in advance that this is a pretty big photo dump 😊 I’ll share my creations in 3 parts so not to completely bombard you😉😁

Here are the snowmen ⛄️. They are approximately 12” tall and actually are made with 2 sizes of DT pumpkins and a DT snowman ornament. Almost a full yard of fabric was used to make the each body and a LOT of pins were used as well. Arms came from the park in behind my backyard!

🎃 I used the no-sew quilted technique on styrofoam pumpkins for my creations. The larger ones are approximately 6", and the minis are 3" - 4". The pinecones are about 3".
🌻 If you're interested, please send me a message. I can always make ones in colors of your choice.
🎃 There are more pumpkins in the patch that weren't quite ready but I'll have pictures soon once they're ripe!! 😉
