Although she is a bit camera shy, Mavis is loads of fun! She loves to play with other dogs, but may be a bit too much for cats. Mavis has not met any children while living with her foster and could probably work on her manners (no jumping) more first. Even though she could use some fine tuning on her manners, she is kennel trained and house trained, knows her name, and has good recall! She also walks great on a leash!

Mavis has been with us since November 2023 and spent a year in the shelter in AL before that. She deserves a forever home and a family of her own. Give her a chance and apply to meet her today!

“Hellooo” from Miss Mavis 🖤

Mavis is best pals with Rocky, and came up from Alabama with him! They were both confiscated from an illegal dog-fighting operation as puppies. The shelter that saved them was overcrowded, as most in the south are, and Mavis and Rocky had to live in an outdoor enclosure. They had never experienced what it was like to live inside of a house, or be part of a family. Fast forward to today!! Mavis has been so well behaved in her foster home 💖 She loves her doggy pals, especially the little ones 😘 she has had ZERO accidents and chewed on toys only. She goes in her kennel whenever she needs to be left unattended for an extended period of time, but sleeps in bed with her pals overnight. She is very curious about her kitty siblings too! Our little guy, Rocky, wanted to show everyone what he’s been up to lately! Rocky has been exploring Waunakee, snoozing on the couch, and making new friends! This guy is just a little nugget at 40 pounds. He is a year and a half old and the sweetest boy! Rocky is great with other dogs, big and small. He is VERY curious about kitties, not aggressive but really excited. Rocky has not met any small children while in his foster home. He can be a little shy at first but is super interested in meeting new people.

This little nugget is named Louise ❤️ Miss Louise is the sweetest girl! She is about 4 years old and roughly 8-9 pounds, but could lose a little weight 🙂 She is working on her potty training. Louise has been kind to her foster siblings (dogs and cats), but would probably do fine in a home with no other pets, too. Behold the cuteness that is Craig 😍

This little dude is about 7 years old, weighs roughly 12 pounds, and is so stinking sweet! He is a happy go lucky guy that gets along great with other dogs his size. He can get a little spicy with bigger dogs 🙃 and doesn’t seem to mind cats at all. Craig’s favorite activities include burrowing under warm blankies, napping, snacking, and getting belly rubs. He currently wears a belly band and likes to wear sweaters to keep warm. Craig walks wonderfully on a leash and enjoys going along on any and all errands! This is Mavis (behavis) 😍 she is a very nice gorl. Mavis came all the way to Wisconsin from Alabama after being confiscated (saved) from a dog fighting ring. She is the sweetest little pibble you ever will meet.

Mavis has never had the chance to live in a household setting. She was confiscated as a very young puppy, and then went to an outdoor kennel at the shelter in Alabama for a year. Her and her BFF, Rocky, were overlooked by adopters again and again (as many pits are).

Mavis has been staying with us at Luna for a couple of months now, and she’s been opening up more and more each day. She shares a room with her buddy, Rocky. They love to cuddle up on the same bed together to sleep, but they eat and enjoy treats separately. Mavis does a great job at keeping her room clean with no accidents! She has learned her name and is working on more skills and manners every day. Mavis loves to play with other dogs but can get a little excited at times. When that happens she has good recall and just needs a little break. Mavis likes to greet you by throwing her paws up in the air and doing a little dance on her tippy toes ❤️ and she loves getting hugs and kisses! Ask about Miss Mavis next time you are at Luna’s!
