This school year was the best ever! With the help of Cookie and Jam, our students made great strides in self confidence, self awareness, self regulation, being mindful of others needs, and in many other aspects of their lives. Cookie and Jam are able to provide immediate, non-judgmental, feedback to the students, during our activities, allowing conversations to take place and change to happen.

Cookie and Jam Jam are so excited about this beautiful Easter Sunday!

This little cowgirl came by to help with the horses and chickens Saturday. She loved it and so did the horses, especially Scooter! 🥰🥰

We had a great start to the spring semester. The students are working on communication skills, including verbal and non-verbal communication. They are learning so much from Jam and Cookie, especially in reading non-verbal cues.

Saying goodbye is so hard, especially to this special guy. Jasper had a unique way of sensing when someone needed an extra hug or a listening ear. He touched the heart of anyone he ever met and even those he didn’t. We will miss this sweet old man. He was one of a kind.

I would like to share a little about his amazing life. When Jasper came to Laura, he was already 10-12 years old. Can you believe that!

Jasper went on to live an additional 25 years! He was a funny, and sweet boy. When you were preparing the herd’s food and you closed the door, but didn’t latch it all the way he would just knock with his head and walk right in. He loved nothing more than to lay his big sweet head on you and give snuggles. He was the best listener.

Jasper, I picture you now now standing in a sunny spot eating a snack of your favorite alfalfa hay. You have earned it sweet boy.

Rest in peace Jasper. You were and are so loved and you will live on in all of our hearts.

We had a great time at Covenant Christian School today. Today’s activity included each student drawing a trail course and then describing that course to their classmate. The students then took turns leading their horses through the course described to them. They worked on listening, communication, following directions, taking turns, and confidence.
