How fun is this silhouette?!
This was a joint effort, for sure! I wish I had a photo of me trying to take the pictures while directing my friend's husband in the background with the leaf blower to "make the fire bigger!!" The original idea was a sunset silhouette, but the trees here are so tall that I knew that would be near impossible. Sometimes a different idea turns out great!

This awesome family drove all the way from Colorado for their session! Okay, they were visiting family in Texas already, but they DID make the 2 hour drive to meet me for a session. 😆 I have gotten to take their photos since their teens were little, so this was special for me to get to see them all again! They are truly the sweetest family and they have so much fun together. And those last few photos CRACK ME UP - I told Mom and Dad to hold hands and secretly told the kids to sneak up on them when I gave them a code word. 🤣

I loved capturing memories for this sweet family again! They are dear friends and also our business partners over The Cahoots Project ❤
My very favorite photos are always the "in between" moments where everyone is looking at each other instead of at me, or when I can capture that true, genuine smile from a kid. And the fall lighting for this session was perfection!

This is 2!

My last baby turned 2 in February and I kept waiting for the perfect timing to take photos. Finally, I decided to stop waiting because it would probably never happen! I grabbed a favorite book and her special stuffed animal and took her in our front yard. Photos like these are my very favorite - they are just every day moments that we want to remember forever. I want to look back and be reminded of that little stuffed lamb she slept with every night, and her tiny little bare feet running around in our yard.

Don't grow up yet, little one.

Is there anything better than getting yourself and your kids out in nature? It's definitely one of my favorite things!

2020 was a crazy year for us all, but I'm so thankful that toward the end of the year I got the opportunity to get my camera out again and photograph a dear friend's family! Photography is a huge creative outlet for me, and I think it's so important to maintain those healthy outlets for our mental health. What's a creative outlet that brings you joy?

I can't even tell you how good it felt to get my camera out again!! My forever baby turned ONE two days ago and I did an impromptu photo shoot in our front yard with my best assistant - my 8 year old daughter. 😁 This mama is feeling allll the feels with having a last first birthday. And this baby does not.stop.moving so she kept me on my toes during this shoot! 🤪

Wow! Almost a full YEAR has gone by since my last post! In that time we've had the birth of a baby girl, sold our farm house, moved to TX, and bought a new house on 5 acres! God is GOOD!! As you can imagine, I've been fairly busy with moving, homeschooling, and taking care of four kiddos and a baby. 😉😴 BUT I am slowly getting my photography business up and running again here in TX! Hopefully in the coming weeks I'll be sharing some posts of our life here so far and maybe even scheduling in some new clients. 💕

I know that this page has been soooo quiet lately, but I have a couple pieces of big news to share! First, in case you didn't already know, we are expecting baby #5 in February! This little lady was a big surprise to our family, but surprises are the BEST! Secondly, we are moving to TEXAS! We are really excited to start this new adventure with our family, but sad to leave CA and all of my amazing clients here! Thank you for making my business more than just a hobby and for letting me capture memories for your family! Just so you can understand the struggle of a photographer to capture photos of their own family, here is a collage of our recent field trip to Round Valley. Notice that it's nearly impossible to get my kids to actually smile at me. But hey, at least they're cute!

I had the wonderful opportunity to photograph my best friend's family while we were visiting them in Texas last week. I just LOVE this shot of my friend's girls, the only two sisters in a family of 6 kids.

This guy that made me a mom turned 8 last week! We are so proud of the young man he is becoming. He loves the Lord, is a proud protector of his three sisters, and he's got a hilarious sense of humor. I can't wait to see what God has planned for him this year!

I couldn't resist one more share for this adorable family! This sweet mama and I go way back to middle school theater! We *may* have even been in a musical version of The Hobbit together, complete with beards and spray painted gray hair. Yep. Let's hope those photos stay hidden. ANYWAYS...they are adding a GIRL to their family soon and I can't wait to meet her!

I remember when this guy was born and now he is a senior! How did this happen?!? My nephew is almost 18! We are so proud of him - football star and super smart too. Here's a sneak peek from his session. Isn't he so handsome??

You guuuuuyyyyssss...I wish I could share EVERY photo from this session!! The love between this family was unbelievable and they were so open to me capturing it. I just love it when clients reeeally listen when I say, "pretend that I'm not here!" because as hard as it can be to do, the results are always awesome. Can't wait to share the rest of the gallery with the family!

Lately I've been obsessed with black and white images, plus I'm kind of obsessed with my kids so put them together and I'm giddy! These were taken just around our treehouse outside and Charlee had dirt all over her face, but these are my favorite times to capture because it's what you remember when you are old and gray! ;-)

I love it when I get the chance to capture the parents during a family session. The love and humor between these two was perfect! And how gorgeous is she?!
