One pistol was built to exacting details from the client. One was left up to me to choose all the details, and one client gave me a broad idea of what he wanted and let me work my magic.

Some really great clients hooked me up with some 18yr and a box of sticks. They go well with the Ported Island Barrel Commander.

Cone'd commander's barrel locked up with locktite. This pistol will have an MBX flush cut mag on the grip module.

and I are the only ones that are DLC'ing a cone or cone'd comp and still fitting it .0005 to the slide ID.

The DLC process vaporizes the locktite and possibly ruins the DLC coating on parts. This is why some smiths insist on bluing their pistols. Why should you have to settle for bluing on a modern pistol?

We developed a technique that allows us to temporarily lock up the cone/comp and then disassemble them for DLC. After DLC, we are able to align the cone perfectly for the final assembly.

When they say a monolith coned comp (AJP's DarkSaber) couldn't be made at Marvel tolerances, we make it in 45acp with an Infinity alum micro-dot grip module & ghosted serrations on the frame.
Debadged MBX magazine base pads with Atlas followers & springs.

- Update on the LMS commander with the unauthorized smith work.

Fit a new barrel, link, bushing, flgr, sear, disconnector, med flat trigger (3lb 2oz), fixed the blown out Marvel disco cut, and the slide's disco slot. I was able to fit the barrel and have the slide's rear perfectly match the frame.
Parts will be sent off for DLC.

Unauthorized work:
The pistol's barrel leg fit was destroyed, the link hole was enlarged, throwing off the timing, and the chamber was over reamed to .764.
The over length crooked disco head created a divot in the disco slot and blew out the Marvel disco cut and the sear's primary and secondary were destroyed. A poorly fit FLGR was installed.

The pistol is now back to shooting 100's on a B8 at 25yds.

- PSA, I offer a lifetime warranty as well as a free tune-up if you ever sell my pistol. I offer these services to avoid this type of work from an unauthorized 'gunsmith'.

This is a very expensive repair for an LMS commander.

The barrel legs are completely gone. It appears that a chainsaw file was used on them.
The bushing is loose and appears to have vice grip marks.
The sear's primary & secondary are destroyed.
The aftermarket disconnector is a 'mile' long with horrible file marks, and the crooked head has created a diviot in the slide's disco slot.
The slide's muzzle ID was opened up from .7025 to .7063.
The barrel link was opened up, creating a timing issue, and is now loose in the barrel, requiring it to be staked.
The aftermarket trigger is rubbing the grip module.
The trigger is set to 3lb 10oz. with a massive tick due to the disco and the slot divot.
The aftermarket guide rod was not fit and has an extremely sharp point on the end.

- I spent hours hand fitting the best followers in the market, Atlas, to the 113mm Infinity mags for the VIP grip module. Debadged and anodized basepads.

The purple Infinity followers leave a lot to be desired. I had issues with tilt, sticking, and jamming, leaving the magazine to act like a bag of Skittles.
Tomorrow, I will shoot it for function.

Serial #0045 had to be a 45acp 2011.
Accurailed aluminum frame.
Custom 2 color retro grip module.
No iron sights. The dot plate is radiused to the slide.

Commander 9mm monolith. Ported hybrid barrel with handmade laser welded faceplate & built-in front sight. Fitting the barrel to .0005 to the slide's ID took over a month and 3 separate laser welds.

- Progress pics, A partial tricut 5" 9mm monolith Limited Optics sight block and Steel Challenge compd pistol. Both barrels use the same slide stop, recoil plug, and rod.

The cones are fit .0005 to the slide ID and the comp & sight block are fit to .002-.003 to the frame and slide. It's just enough of a gap to function reliably when the barrel unlocks.

The optic plate is radiused to the rear of the slide.
Time to shoot it for function, bevel, and add serrations.

Infinity macro grip with debadged magwell.
When removing the Infinity old school checkering, remember to leave the bottom to prevent a large gap in the magwell. Trigger is currently set at 2lb 5oz.

"They" said a Marvel tolorence mono cone'd comp could not be built (see AJP's DarkSaber on 1911addicts). Why not do a 2 barrel mono cone'd comp?

Both 'comps' are fit to .0025 to the slide and .003 to the frame. Both will use the same recoil rod, recoil plug, and slide stop.

Another pistol that was said could not be built. An Island barrel with Bulleye accuracy.

The pistol is off to the client to shoot it in the white. He will shoot it at the 1911Addicts event on Saturday. I will finish the serrations and cosmetics when it is returned.

This has got to be the most expensive 1 piece barrel ever made. The laser welding, mill, and lathe work was enormous.
The muzzle is fit to .0005 to the slide. The handmade face plate protects the 2 sharp points on the slide and acts as a sight block for the welded front sight.

While AJP is on vacation, his DarkSaber is getting a spa day. The pistol has @ 4000 rounds.

Monolith 4" with a 1/2" coned comp. The new Modlite PL350C light. Polished serrations, grip safety, and small parts. Stippled slide. The slide stop was stippled on the bottom. Micro front sight. Debadged Taran Tactical magwell. The MJD grip has a very customized Boresight trigger undercut.

Progress Pics -- The Monolith Commander Island Barrel is coming along.
The Island will get 4 ports.
The Schulmann Island barrel is fit to .0005 to the slide ID.
The handmade faceplate is laser welded to the muzzle. It is fit to .0025 to the slide and serves a couple of purposes:
* It protects the 2 sharp corners on the slide front.
* It has a built-in front sight to act as a sight block.

The VIP Infinity grip might be my newgo-too module.

Work Bench Progress Pics - The 2011 Mono coned comp in 45acp is in the home stretch.

The pistol shot amazing today. I am fairly certain that I now prefer the 2011 platform in 45acp over the 9mm.

The gaps around the comp are currently at .004.
The ACRO is buried DEEP. The grip safety was scalloped and the memory bump was removed. The Infinity old school checkering was removed from the MSH.

The large gap between the grip safety and the MSH will be laser welded and eliminated.

I am still undecided on what to do with the comp port and front sight.

I have started DLC'n the hammer strut and the firing pin to give the rear of the pistol a completely blacked out look. Angled Slide Stop, Blended Custom Frag Front Sight.
Can you spot all the bevels: Bushing, Slide Ball Cut, Front Sight, Slide Front & Bottom, Frame Front & Top, Ejection Port, Top of Beavertail into the Frame, Light Slot, Slide Stop, Thumb Safeties.
