Novo Studio Architects
We are a woman-owned modern architecture firm that’s ready to bring your vision to life.
Architectural design can truly be found anywhere in the world.
Anne recently went abroad and captured some great examples in her travels.
Can you guess which country she was in?
Today is World Population Day 🌎
With over 8 billion people living on our planet, one of the most important challenges we face is making sure that everyone can live comfortably, sustainably, and affordably.
As architects, we accept that challenge.
We are proud to work on affordable housing projects here in New Hampshire to help our growing population find homes. While we won’t solve the housing crisis overnight, we will continue to do our part to make a difference in our community.
Happy 4th of July!
We hope everyone has a safe and happy holiday, and gets to watch fireworks, of course 🇺🇸
Today is National Take Your Dog to Work Day!
But let’s be honest, Huey comes to work with us every day…
Novo’s first ribbon cutting ceremony is in the books! ✂️
Our first major project - Jackson Square in Nashua, NH - is officially open!
The 24-unit multifamily affordable housing development broke ground in May 2023, and applications are now flooding in for its very first tenants.
It was our pleasure to work with Steve Hebsch, Eckman Construction, Crimson Properties LLC, Team Engineering, Hayner Swanson, Andrew Dorsett from NH Economy, and the city of Nashua to bring this project to life.
We are proud to have created a space that feels open and welcoming to the Nashua community.
Today is NH Gives! 💙💚
This special day brings attention to the New Hampshire nonprofits that provide so much for our communities.
To show our support, we are making donations to the following six NH nonprofits:
- The Webster House
- New Hampshire Women's Foundation
- The Grapevine Family & Community Resource Center
- Marguerite's Place, Inc.
- NeighborWorks Southern New Hampshire
- Manchester True Collaborative
We encourage you to also make a donation, follow their efforts, and learn more about how they are making the granite state a better place.

Thank you to the NH Center for Nonprofits for hosting this statewide event!
Our founder, Anne Ketterer, has been appointed to the Center for Ethics in Society Advisory Board at Saint Anselm College!
The Center helps communities and organizations address ethical challenges through collaborative research, education, and discussion.
Anne is looking forward to contributing to meaningful discussions and making a positive impact.

Happy Pride month! 🏳️🌈
In a historically straight male dominated industry, Novo Studio Architects is proud to be run by a female founder with an LGBTQIA+ business partner.
We are a people-centric architecture firm that believes in building projects and breaking barriers. This is the mindset we bring into every client meeting to ensure that we are aligned in our values and that we share the same perspective on the world.
We honor the LGBTQIA+ community for living their truths, and we appreciate q***r architects for their contribution to the world of design.
We have a new project!
Last year, The Grapevine Family & Community Resource Center applied for a government grant to expand their existing community resource center in Antrim, NH. In the span of only a few weeks, our team put together an incredible proposal that won us the forgivable loan.
We are so proud of our team (big shout out to Steve Hebsch) and all we achieved in a short time for this amazing organization!
The Grapevine is such an important part of the Antrim community. Since 1996, they have been promoting family and community health and well-being through support, education and the sharing of resources. The hardworking staff at this non-profit provide a safe space for children to play, they host classes and workshops for those in need, and so much more.
It’s our honor to help them continue their efforts by building a new space for their many activities.
Stay tuned for more updates as we start this project with Team Engineering and Eckman Construction!
Happy Memorial Day!
Thank you to all who have served our country and protected our families.
It’s National Wine Day!
Some of our best projects have been designed over a bottle (or two) of wine.
Anne brings the red. Steve brings the white. And our ideas always end up somewhere in the middle. After all, it is rosé season!
Cheers 🍷
April showers bring May… trees?
That’s the case at our Jackson Square project in Nashua, NH!
With some fresh, new landscaping, this affordable housing project is almost ready to open its doors.
Happy Cinco de Mayo from Huey, Faust, and Lucky!
Happy Earth Day from Astronaut Huey!
We’re excited to announce a new project, coming soon to Laconia, NH!
Our team will be working with Fulcrum to build a five-story condominium building next to the T-Bones and Cactus Jack's restaurants on Union Avenue.
We are looking forward to transforming the 1.1-acre property into a beautiful living space that will look out over Paugus Bay.
In addition, we are so proud to share that our client, Great NH Restaurants has designated 10 units for workforce housing, providing much-needed affordable rental units for Laconia’s workforce. Three of the 10 will be specifically designated for employees of the City of Laconia, while the remaining seven will be set aside for employees of T-BONES and Cactus Jacks.
We are excited to bring this type of project to Laconia! Stay tuned for more details.

After nearly 6 years on the Manchester Zoning Board of Adjustment, Anne Ketterer is terming out and signing off!
It has been a wonderful experience for her and a real privilege to be the first female chair(wo)man.
She says, “Manchester is an incredible city, I look forward to seeing the many terrific projects (large and small) that have came through the board, be brought to life. Thank you to my fellow members, and a special thanks to city staff Sheila and Mike!”

One of our first projects, Jackson Square Affordable Housing, is almost done!
This 24-unit multifamily affordable housing development is made up of 14 one-bedroom units and 10 two-bedroom units.
Jackson Square is a proud recipient of the Invest NH grant for affordable housing, and it is our privilege to bring these much needed apartments to Nashua, NH.
The project broke ground in May 2023, and it will be finished this May (pending any more snow storms or earthquakes…).

Everyone, please welcome Steve Laput AIA, LEED BD+C to Novo!
We are thrilled to have such a talented and experienced architect join our team as a partner. Plus, we know he is a kind human who will be a joy to work with.
Steve has over 25 years of professional experience working throughout greater New England. His work has mainly focused on buildings within the public realm - libraries, schools, and other civic buildings.
He is excited to be joining the Novo team where he will be focusing on affordable housing, and creating spaces that people can call home. Throughout his career, Steve has developed an expertise in exterior envelope detailing and sustainable design. In every project Steve has been part of, regardless of typology or budget, he works diligently with the client and construction team to find creative, proactive and solution driven design options that maximize value within the project budget.
We look forward to seeing what Steve creates with Novo!
It’s official, we're changing our company name to Huvo Studio Architects…
April Fool’s!!
Don’t tell Huey it’s a joke though.
As Women's History Month comes to an end, we want to give a shoutout to some of the wonderful women that we get to work with!
💙 Melissa Gallagher, Executive Director of The Grapevine Family & Community Resource Center
💙 Hannah Stohler, Executive Director of Marguerite's Place, Inc.
💙 Sandra Almonte, Owner of Don Quijote Union St
💙 Katherine Morneau, Owner of Morneau Law
You leadies are an inspiration, and we are honored to work with you. After all, "Women are the true builders of society" (Harriet Beecher Stowe).
Cheers to all the fantastic, hardworking women out there!
We are proud to announce that we will be working on a brand-new project for Marguerite's Place, Inc. in Nashua, NH!
As much as we love architecture—which is a lot—we love people and our community even more.
Our team will be working with Marguerite's Place to design a new building that will include administrative offices, a community resource space, and much needed apartments for families in transition.
There is currently a waitlist of over 200 families in need of housing, so we are honored to create a safe space for some of them to call home, and to help empower them to thrive.
This is an incredibly meaningful project for our team, and we cannot wait to bring it to life for New Hampshire families in need.
Crushed wordle today! And how industry appropriate 💪😍
