Calves hurting while pregnant? Do some calf stretches! Calf stretches during pregnancy can help stretch tight, sore muscles not used to carry you and a baby. You can also have a partner lightly massage your calves with some magnesium cream/oil. Simply sit down with your leg straight and point your toes out (relaxed), then up (to stretch).
Even hybrid feeding (formula and breastmilk) if you are able helps your baby take advantage of the immune boosts from breastmilk.
Breast milk: often imitated, never duplicated 💜

Have you heard of Montgomery Glands? They are the bumps on your ar**la. One average, the breast has around 9, but there can be 0 to 38! The glands produce oily secretions that protect your ni***es with antimicrobial properties. They smell like amniotic fluid when your baby is born to help guide them to the breast.
Our bodies are amazing!
Completely agree. Breastfeeding has many benefits BUT if it's not working best for you or for your baby anymore/at all, that's OK too.
‘Bout it.

How much anxiety is too much anxiety?
It's heartbreaking to know the reason this so desperately needed passed, but gives hope that families will be able to more easily get the support they need and deserve.
During those first couple of months it might feel as if your baby is attached to you and that’s because they are.
Your baby only wants you bc your baby only knows you. Your baby knows your voice. Your baby knows your smell. Your baby knows your heartbeat. You are the only constant that your baby has ever known.
Rest, let your body heal, & cuddle with that baby! You can’t “spoil” a baby & touch + human connection is crucial. Let your baby sleep on you. Let your baby nurse for hours because babies nurse for more than food, they nurse for comfort, thirst, closeness, eye contact. Let your baby find solace in you and nurse on!
This is a great step for Lousiana! It would be amazing if our government or more businesses realized the importance of doulas and their impact on positive birth experiences.

Welcome Lizzie Cousins Maternity Care to our Birth Fair!
“Hi! My name is Elizabeth Pruitt and I am a labor and postpartum doula. I own Lizzy Cousins Maternity Care and serve the Northshore and surrounding area. I have always been interested in birth to 5 years, but realized the need for more doulas in our area when my best friend had a horrible experience for birth and Postpartum. I luckily had a great birth with my daughter (1yr old), but wanted to help prevent experiences like my best friend had. I have training through maternitywise and support all births. What's most important is you have a voice and feel supported and loved throughout the pregnancy and the 4th trimester.”
Summer days are for laying in hammocks. We believe the same is true for your baby! Rest Smart℠ are gravity-friendly postures that allow your baby’s back to settle in your belly like a hammock. Try some of these Rest Smart℠ positions:
✔️ While resting or while on bed rest, make a little pillow nest to lay nearly on your tummy.
✔️ Use your breastfeeding pillow, curve your body pillow, or semi-inflate a swim doughnut to dip your belly in the “nest.”
✔️ Lay on either side, one hip directly over the other. Change sides frequently for comfort and to help the uterus be a little more symmetrical.

Longer duration of exclusive breastfeeding has protective effect on childhood asthma, says new study Pregnant women and new mothers are often presented with information on the benefits of breastfeeding their infants. I used to wonder what happened to mums when they had a child. Where did they go?
Almost symbolically, they seemed to gradually disappear from their own pictures and be replaced instead by baby photos. I don't know why but it used to irk me a bit. I would wonder; how was it possible to get so completely lost in motherhood?
NOW I GET IT.
There IS a loss of identity when you become a mum. Well, there certainly was for me. You become consumed with all these things that never crossed your mind before; milk intake, nappy output, nap timings, meal plans, teething remedies. And somewhere along the way, you lose yourself a bit.
You forget how to talk about things outside the realm of mothering. You lose touch of the things that used to make you tick. Your repertoire becomes limited, and let's be honest, a little bit dull.
Thankfully you find other mums; people you maybe wouldn't have got on that well with before, but you're all rattling around in this lost property box together.
I know deep down that I have gone awol since becoming a mum. I have almost forgotten that there is a world out there, distinct from motherhood, that I can also subscribe to. And share with Casey. I'm sure he too would like to know the person beyond mum.
And so I am slowly trying to reclaim my me-ness. I'm finding when I do, he actually enjoys it more. It feels more authentic. Just little things like we'll have a dance around to the music that I love rather than the wiggles or taking the time to look half-human in the morning and repainting my old face on again.
It can be a balancing act, trying to help this little person develop their identity, whilst not forgetting your own.
