We had a great time at the LCPA Northshore Chapter: Holiday Chair Visit & Member Celebration last week! 🎄🎉 Our team loved getting to see some familiar faces and chat with local teams close to our location in downtown Covington.

Stephen Griffin, Managing Partner, and Rob Furman, Partner, were particularly excited to celebrate Cliff Giffin's recognition as an LCPA member for 50 years. Stephen and Rob worked with Cliff at another renowned CPA firm during the early days of their career. Celebrating our community—it's one of our favorite things!

Meet Emily, a member of our Tax & Accounting department! 👋 Emily graduated from the University of Louisiana Monroe with a Bachelor of Business Administration & Management in 2007. After furthering her education, she graduated from Louisiana State University of Alexandria with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting in 2022.

Here are some fun facts about Emily:
🧵 When she's not at work, you can find her remodeling her house, sewing & quilting, hunting & fishing, traveling, and spending time with friends.
🐶 She has a black lab named Weatherby—who loves truck rides!
🐯 Her favorite sport is LSU football.
🎓 The accomplishment that she is most proud of includes getting her second degree and fulfilling the education requirements necessary to sit for the CPA exam.

Meet Leslie, our Manager of Tax & Accounting! 👋 Leslie began her career in accounting upon graduating from Delgado in New Orleans. She acquired unique work experiences in various industries before finding her home with G&F in 2016.

👨‍👩‍👦 She has been married to her high school sweetheart for 40 years. Together they have five wonderful grandchildren (and one on the way!), a daughter, a son, and a daughter-in-law.
🥕 She loves taking the grandkids to her vegetable garden and watching them plant and harvest.
🐰 She has three goats (Thomas, Shirley, and Katie), a couple of chickens, and a spoiled rabbit named Spike.

The Golden Rules of Shredding:
✨ Shred immediately: Credit card & utility bills. shopping receipts, junk mail credit card offers, pharmacy labels, expired passports and driver's licenses, copies of birth certificates, old insurance policies, travel itineraries, and resumes
✨ Shred within 1 year or less: Pay stubs, bank statements, and medical bills
✨ Shred after 7 years: Tax records

Meet Racheal, our Director of Credit Union and State Retirement Services! 👋 Racheal began her career in banking upon graduating from Southeastern Louisiana University in 2009. She served as Manager for several years, during which she had direct oversight of our attest and accounting services, before her promotion to Director in 2021.

Here are a few fun facts about Racheal:
🏦 As a former Credit Union CFO, she is an expert in bridging the gap between Credit Union operations and auditing requirements.
🚗 She enjoys being at different locations day to day while getting to know our Credit Union clients and learning how we can make their roles easier.
🤍 She has been married for 11 years to her husband, David. They have two kids—Landon and Harper.
✈️ Their family loves to visit the mountains to hike and the beach to relax.
⚽ The kids keep their schedule busy! When not working, you can find them on the soccer field, flag football field, or in tumbling classes.
