Which napkin sets should I pull out for our Thanksgiving? We are down to the last set in this blue Stone napkin. Should I restock them? I do love the blue on our wood table 😍.
Everything you need to be the perfect host is waiting for you—shop our handcrafted pieces today! Do you know that our wooden tabletops are sourced from artisans that use wood from Indonesian government certified lumber supplier. This means that we ensure our wood don’t come from illegal logging and that our products are sustainable. Are you all ready for the next weeks of hosting season? What will you be making or hosting? In our household, we are kicking off the hosting season with a big extended family Thanksgiving this Saturday with a party of 20. Luckily our extended family used to own and run restaurants, so I get to just host while they are all bringing the delicious food. I do get to bake my famous cheesecake as my one simple offering. 😆 Do you have any go to dishes for Thanksgiving that you would bring for the family?
We are gearing up for the holiday season. Don’t wait til the last minute for thoughtful gift made with the purest intention. We have been shipping out our hand dyed batik scarves and bandanas. Do you know that we also do gift wrapping? Wait no more and use code “THANKFUL” for 20% off order online. 🙏🙏🙏

First step stamping. Next up dyeing, then covering first color with canting tool to preserve the first color. Next sun-baking. More dye-ing onto second color. More sun-baking. We then boiled off all the wax (the brown wax will showcase the first color). And final product at the end. Love the small batch and slow process. Each batch starts at 10 pieces to ensure we like the final product. Then we decide if we want to make more batiks in batches of 20. Sometimes we make more, sometimes we don’t. Even when we make more, each batch can have variation of colors - due to the manual dye mix, whether it is sunny or rainy season (the sun affects how the color will look). Bottom line? If you like these batik, get them before they are gone.
A little reminder - please do less the next eight weeks. Don’t commit to anymore that you need to. That friendsgiving sure maybe host one or go to one. That Thanksgiving - can you only do one instead of multiple? And don’t get me started with December. 🥴 My only commitment to December is something experiential for my kids. Which really will likely mean hosting a cookie decorating for my children’s friends (one for my son, two maximum for daughter - my son has very high energy). Not going to do many of the traditional Christmas activities in December. We can do it in any other months. I refuse to jam in kids’ performance, watching shows, christmas decorating, elf on the shelf, etc etc etc into four weeks. So there is my request for everyone to be kind to yourself the next eight weeks. Which may mean do less, commit less, say no to things, postpone it to 2025. Showcasing my gamelan Indonesian xylophone to help me to be in my zen mode.
It’s that time of the year y’all. That time of the year when the temperature dips below 60F in the morning and you will never see me out of the house. Unless I really really have to. Because people around me can attest that I am an Island Girl at heart and can only survive in weather 68F and above. 🫣 Don’t mind me as I stay at home wrapped in our floral quilted robe all day long. It’s soft, it’s thick, and it has pockets. Find me again in March 🌞🌞🌞
For as long as I can remember, I am always fascinated by crafts. I started learning oil painting since I was young, I love learning about fabric and patterns in my travel around Indonesia. So it’s no surprise that I started Kasih Co-op to extend my love for crafts and fabric to you all. I’m Ivana in case you are new around here. I am originally from Indonesia and now live in Manhattan Beach with my family. I love keeping my Indonesian heritage craft batik and ikat fabric making alive. I will be introducing new lines of hand-dyed batik bandanas in the next few weeks so sign up for our email and SMS newsletter. I am working on creating a line of fully hand-drawn batik bandanas next. But I can’t decide if I should do fairytale medieval or floral or birds as my first one. Any thoughts? First picture is myself in Lombok Indonesia trying out hand-weaving ikat fabric years ago. The rest of the photos were myself creating a hand-drawn batik in Jakarta Indonesia.

Rocking our batik hand dyed scarf for a private screening movie at Chinese Theatre in Hollywood. Any guess on what movie we watched yesterday and how did I do on combining the color of my existing batik skirt that I wore for my wedding 13 years ago and our batik scarf in Apricot Grid?
