Happy New Year from Let’s Play PreKind Tutoring. What exciting news to start the year with a full tutoring roster!
2021 brought many challenges, yet it taught me to challenge myself and seek new beginnings. Making Let’s Play PreKind Tutoring a reality was by far the biggest challenge to date, and it is already becoming a successs in 2022.
Big thank you to those who supported my dreams and believed in me deeply. It is undoubtedly your encouragement that has made this moment possible. Thank you to the families who have entrusted me with your child’s education and success, both present and past. I value the relationships we have built together, surrounding your children, to guide them into awakening their abilities to take hold of their own success in education. It is a true honor and a deep, deep privilege.
Another card for my teaching gratitude box. I will always stand by the notion that a well worded note of gratitude is the best gift a teacher could ever recive. To know that the work I’m doing each day with a student has a ripple effect that is seen by their family, friends, and ultimately their community.
If you could hear the story of this little one, you would fully understand the weight of these words. Their story is not mine to share, however, their story had a new beginning and a new path for them to be successful. I am honored. ♥️
If you know me, I don’t take compliments well. I like to be seen but I don’t necessarily like to be recognized. This week I had a colleague tell me that I inspired them to take hold of a desire they had put to the side. They said that my confidence to move forward, into the unknown, is what encouraged them the most. Wow. It really is true that actions speak louder than words.
You can talk all day long; however, if there is no action behind it then there is clearly no purpose. Just know that if you are stepping out of your comfort zone and taking on new challenges, you are inspiring others to do the same. ♥️
Another quiet morning by the light of the Christmas tree. A vanilla coconut cold foam coffee in hand. (Sometimes I even impress myself with the quality of coffee I am able to make at home) A vision that was written on scrap paper is being brought to life. ♥️
There is nothing better than creating educational materials with the interests and love surrounding my students in mind.
What are you doing on this quiet morning?
It’s a Magic e kind of morning! Chill LoFi music on with two sleeping pups on each side. Prepping for online tutoring through the holidays. ♥️

Saturday mornings are for sleeping dogs and working hard on creating digital content for online tutoring. Starting a business is hard work, extra long hours, and some crazy ideas. All that to say I can’t wait for all these parts to fall into place and work independently.
Make everyday what you want it to reflect. Work hard. Stay centered. Inspire others. Make a difference in the lives around you.
It’s this kind of gratitude that lasts forever. ♥️
Check it out! It’s a Ginger Bread House! I haven’t made one of these in forever but it sure was fun to take a trip down memory lane with this today.
Here’s a helpful hint if you’re thinking of doing this with your littles, use hot sugar to secure the walls in place. 😉
this week is a fun game of Banana Grams! I have both sets of Banana Grams for my classroom. We use the tiles to practice letter recognition, introduce primary letter sounds for C-V-C words, and with Banana Grams Junior, it includes a small portion of word families, vowel teams and digraphs!!!
A great way to introduce how the English language rules work with a fun and tangible experience! I am really looking forward to working with my new students using Banana Grams.
*This post is not sponsored. I just love this product, it’s fun, and the kids love that the tiles come in a cute banana!
Are you ever amazed at how incredible our solar system is? Here is a snap of when the total eclipse came across Georgia a few years ago.
My family is fascinated with the sky, the moon and stars, and the galaxies here and beyond. I took the day off with some friends to travel to North Georgia to secure a spot in the path of the total eclipse. It was breath taking. You could say it was a once in a lifetime experience. As the moon covered the sun, the entire horizon all around looked like a beautiful dawn scene. The sun was a silver circle in the sky. And the temperature dropped like a cool autumn afternoon. I am so looking forward to experiencing this again in 2024 when I can go with my family.
Diving into some Saturday reading on marrying balanced Literacy with Science of Reading. There’s a better way to learning to read.
Friday is for game time! Take time to make a fun game board with your little ones! I’ll show you how to make it meaningful in math and literacy!
is taking time to share those small but impactful thoughts of gratitude.
I love building that intricate connection with my students and for this one, it was all about music, anything numbers, and writing! They challenged my way of teaching in so many positive ways! They didn’t fit the lesson plan, the lesson plan was truly marrying their interests to the skills needed to reach their next goal. 🧡
Tuesdays are for helping families find educational opportunities in every day experiences.
Kids driving you crazy when all you want to do is get what you need and get home? Here’s 3 ways to make this a great experience for everyone!
1) For your littlest ones, here is a grocery scavenger hunt. As you move through each aisle, they can look and find the items on their visual list.
2) For your pre-k and kinder littles, have them write the prices on the item.
3) And for your 1st-3rd grade babes, take the prices list home and set them up with their piggy bank money and encourage them to combine the correct currency to purchase the items.
There is so much learning happening here! Building observation and attending skills, writing, building quantities are just highlights. You’re even teaching responsibility with their money!

Meet Me Monday is all about my love for Abstract Art. I love teaching students about mixed media art. It’s such an exciting way to encourage children to break out of the thought that art needs to look a specific way or should be created to perfection.
I will be offering a simple, after school mixed media art class. If you are interested, message me so we can set up registration for January.
In this season of education the walls have felt as though they are caving in around many educators. Expectations are higher than ever. Responsibility has increased exponentially. And the passion that was there before is dwindling. Here is your sign that your worth and the value you bring is not determined by an institution, a program, a group, or by an individual. The avenue of success isn’t a one way path but an interstate of possibility and choice. If your heart is leading you into new areas of education, take that step. If you have new ideas, present them. Take a chance on the impact you bring to the table.
If there is anything this pandemic has taught us it is that teachers have the ability to make connections with students; and teach to an elevated standard with the same passion online as they would in person.
It’s time to move forward. It has only just begun.
