Michele Klinger Photography
Portrait photographer in Lancaster, PA. Tell your dog I said Hi!
When your subject smiles with just his bottom teeth. 🤣
We have an awesome dog themed basket to include a certificate good for a photo shoot! Don’t miss out and come out and support an amazing cause!
There are lots of questions you should ask a photographer before hiring them. Let's face it, photography isn't cheap. Don't worry, I'll have questions for you as well! If you hire me that is!
Before selecting a photographer, take a look at their work. We all have different styles. I personally still like to hand-edit things, versus using a preset across the board. Presets are a great starting point, don't get me wrong, but I like creating art! And that's how I like to do it! Make sure you like what you see!
Price is important to everyone also, but don't pick the cheapest one! Most photographers have invested thousands of dollars. While I do love simplistic photography, I also love the updated technology, equipment, and programs that are available. I still offer a full digital download which is included with my price. No extra fees for rights to the images. Sweet!
Don't have expectations that you'll look like a runway model, just be happy in your own skin, and let me do the rest! A good photographer is able to balance the camera, posing, and LIGHTING! The most important component of an amazing image is lighting! Trust me, most of us learn that the hard way! With proper lighting, your photographer will be able to make you look amazing in your images!
Speaking of posing, if your pose doesn't feel natural, it surely won't look natural. Sometimes I try poses that I see in my head, and it just doesn't work out the way I think. But that's ok, learning is essential to growth!
My goal is to continue to offer great quality photography, at reasonable market prices.
Take a peek at a few of my recent images of Sami. Each one has a slightly different look. Maybe it's warmer, cooler, has a little more haze or blacks. Doesn't matter! You hire me for my artistic ability to make digital MEMORIES of you or your family!
We can never get time back. BUT, we can alway remember those times with well thought out images.
Thanks to ALL of my supporters and for pushing me to move forward! I love you all!
People often ask, "Do you photograph people?"
Of coarse I do! I happen to LOVE doing senior portraits!
This is one of my amazing seniors, Sami! Sami is part of an our extended blue family, as well as the extended hockey family. Thanks to my husband, I was able to meet Sami and parents. All are near and dear to our hearts and Sami is always sure to make me laugh!
The weather appears to be staying a bit warmer, so reach out if your senior still needs photographed for the most memorable time of their school years!
Take a peek at this same image in black and white. Seriously dreamy. It's in the comments.

One thing I have learned through the years of photographing kids and dogs, is the similarities between the two.
Posing can be a challenge with both. Forcing a pose will undoubtably make things worse!
So, what's the fix? It's easy peasy! Allow them to be their self!
No direction.
No instructions.
Just a boy waiting patiently. Ok, I think I did tell him to smile. 😀
Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I am thankful for so much, and I'm looking forward to all the good things to come! ❤️
What does a girl do for her birthday? She gets a photo shoot with her best dog of coarse!
This is Lillian and her rescue dog Marli. TODAY happens to be Lillian's 9th birthday! Happy Birthday Lillian!! I hope your day is filled with lots of presents and a sweet birthday cake!
Lillian is the cutest girl, and so is her dog Marli! They are clearly meant to be best buds and totally ROCKED their photo shoot! As with most shoots, I always have one image in my head that I MUST capture. It's so strange, almost a bit scary, how I can clearly visualize this before it's created.
At the start of any shoot, we do a few warm-up poses and shots. This ensures that everyone, including me, are at ease for the main event! I also didn't have a handler this day, so it didn't take long for me to put Mom and Dad to work! They did AMAZING!
You would be surprised how much goes into that one special image. Lighting, composition, where everyone is looking or if they are smiling or not. Then, all the stars align, and boom! A dreamy image that will be cherished by Lillian and her family for years to come!
I'm including the SOOC image to show the transition (in the comments). I swapped the treat with a butterfly.
I never know if I want to share those, because people always say well that was "Photo Shopped!" No kidding! It's a whole other level in the art of photography. As much as I don't like it somedays, I must keep learning and growing with technology. After all, how will I ever get one of my images on a bag of dog food if I don't keep moving forward?
Until my big commercial dreams come true, just remember, you knew me when...
Happy Sunday everyone! Keep your dreams alive!
Love this time of year!
Since 1979, Bureau of Police Lancaster City, PA had a mounted police unit. Sadly, that is coming to an end.
This is Jake, about to get one last nose pat from a Lancaster County SERT member.
While I enjoy the art of crafting words to pair with my images, sometimes the image speaks for itself. I could literally stare at this all day.
Oh how I LOVE fall!
The Manheim Township police officers have handed out their last few pieces of candy and reluctantly packed away their pumpkin carving kits for the season. We really enjoyed meeting all the little princesses, ninja turtles, bumble bees and monsters at our Trunk or Treat event!
It's time to blow the dust off our box of Santa hats and get back to work! We can barely contain our excitement as we begin the 2023 TOY DRIVE, benefiting Toys for Tots - Lancaster, PA!
This year, we have joined forces with Wayne's Towing & Recovery. We couldn't say no when they offered to help, because we know they have some fairly strong fellas who will help us carry all those heavy boxes of donated toys!
WE NEED YOUR HELP TOO!
Our elves, AKA Police Officers, have strategically placed donation boxes at various spots in Manheim Township, Pennsylvania and Lancaster Township. Our personal favorite happens to be Starbucks and Duck Donuts! Do we even need to tell you why?
YOUR MISSION, should you choose to accept, is to find some super cool unwrapped toys, then place them inside one of those boxes. We are even going to help you find the boxes, with our handy list below!
Don't worry, you have plenty of time to help us bring smiles and joy to our local children this holiday season! Boxes will be picked up on December 2nd.
Are you a business owner in Manheim Township who would like to be a TFT donation site? Please reach out to Officer Michele Klinger at (717) 569-6401 X 1584 and she will hook you up!

As I continue my journey to photograph new dogs, the education has been invaluable! Thank goodness people take a chance and put their dog in front of my camera!
I connected with Kaitlyn and her dog Banjo recently. We live terribly far apart, but if we lived closer, I'm telling you she'd be one of my home girls! Kaitlyn and Banjo are just the sweetest! We met somewhere in between at Ephrata Township Community Park.
So, as with all Hounds, they are distracted and a tad stubborn. The challenge is to get their nose off the ground, then actually have them to look at the camera. Seems pretty simple, right?
Sometimes my tricks work and things just happen to fall into place. That was not the case with Mr. Banjo. But that's ok! I've learned you just have to let a dog be a dog some days, and I'm ok with that!
I also didn't have a handler that day, so Mom took over. This creates a different issue for me, where the dog will typically look at Mom or Dad if they are handling, versus at me. But we improvise and move forward!
So here is a super simple and sweet image of my new friend, Banjo! Thanks for helping me pursue my passion, Kaitlyn, and for being so patient as we worked through the shoot! You guys rock!
Meet K9 Brooks!
K9 Brooks is working with the Millersville University Police Department alongside handler Officer Ivan Gonzalez. K9 Brooks has already become a favorite with students and staff with his big personality.
K9 Brooks takes his job seriously! While he will be helping to bridge the gap between campus police and students, he will also offer softer side to policing.
If you see K9 Brooks and Officer Gonzalez out and about, be sure to stop and say hello!
I thought I'd post a few images of the I105 WIOV Fallfest 2023. So many more to go through, but these were some quick picks!

I am so humbled by the opportunities in my journey as a photographer. It has led me down incredible roads, allowed me to meet so many amazing people, and dogs!
Me and my boy Cash, named after Johnny cash of coarse, stopped in at Overlook Activities Center for a quiet and rainy peek at the I-105 Fallfest Country music Festival 2023 (link in the comments).
It’s so different to be there today, versus tomorrow, when it will be filled with people, country music, and good times. Those that attend, will surely take home memories of a lifetime!
While Cash won’t be attending tomorrow, my small team (ok it’s just me and my husband 🤣) will be there to capture some of those memories. 📷
So dust off those cowboy boots, and have an amazing time if you’re attending!
Thanks to all of those putting in countless hours leading up to the event. They are the true rockstars!
🥰🥰🥰
Stepping out of your comfort zone takes courage, patience (which my husband will tell you I lack), and freeing your creative mind. I wanted to take my photos to a new level. So, I packed up my new camera, which I'm still learning, wrangled up one of my best friends for emotional support and dog handling, and off we went!
This is Troy! He was one of the sweetest Basset Hounds I've ever met! We took our time getting to know Troy for a few minutes. With the help of a few treats and a calm handler, we were able to get Troy to tolerate our slip lead, versus his harness that he normally wears. Troy did some pulling and rubbed his head on the ground in the beginning, but he was motivated by our tasty morsels and forgot about that silly leash pretty fast! Troy had very minimal obedience training, so we knew this would be a challenge. Within a few minutes, we had handsome Troy sitting and looking amazing for the camera! Troy was laid back and not anxious which makes for a much better photo shoot.
Image #1 is SOOC (that's photographer talk for straight out of the camera).
Image #2 is the edited version. It's no where near perfect, but what a learning experience this has been! From handling a dog before and during a photo shoot, to using a new camera, to pushing editing skills. Time well spent!
Thanks for taking a chance on us Troy and April!
I need your help!! And…it’s FREE!!
Summer is coming to an end, but for all of us pumpkin spice-hoodie wearing-fire sitting peeps, fall is welcomed with our empty mugs and open arms! ☕️ 🔥
This fall, I am looking for your help! I’d like to offer a photo session for a special breed! Calling all long nosed and long eared dogs! Drum roll please…
Most people know of my hound obsession. 😍🤣
You might have guessed it already!
I’m looking for a BASSET HOUND! And to my husband…I promise I won’t keep him or her! 🤞🏻😘
