Busy day in the garage! Got some new storage shelves to keep things less cluttered, and hopefully the last layer of epoxy in the cracks on the table. What you see will be sanded off when it dries and will give a nice black accent to the dark wood.
This is the wood whiz, it flattens the table top!
Black walnut table top headed to be perfectly flattened on both sides by OP Hardwoods in Springfield. This thing weighs a ton!
Starting to look like a dresser!
Doesn’t look like anything yet, but it’s coming along!
Three ten foot sections of 2 inch thick Black Walnut were added to the shop today! Dresser is going on hold for a big project! Last project may have been the biggest ever by size, but this will be the heaviest ever!
So close! We need add the crown molding at the top, some trim on the sides and between the top and bottom cabinet sections. And then counter top in between!
Good progress today!
Started a new project today! This one will be a super special person! But boy it’s hot!
Main cabinet sections installed! Tops almost done! And then just the trim and counter top between the two!
Top half of the cabinets getting doors! They will have glass door panels with a white frost on the glass!
Quick shelf build and Brayden built some floating shelves for his room!
Cabinet doors are being installed! Using soft close recessed hinges for the first time!
We have lots of doors coming along! Such a long process with how many we need. We invested in a specialized router bit that creates perfect shaker style cabinet doors. Should finish up the doors today and start installing them!
Planing down a big stack poplar boards to 3/4 inch boards for our 18 cabinet doors! Producing ten gallons of wood shavings about every 15-20 minutes! If anyone needs some wood shavings, hit us up!
Broken scraps of black walnut turned into a nice little end table topper! Dressed up the metal end table pretty nice!
Repaired walnut slab turned out pretty nice looking!
Very long and slow process of flattening a slab with a makeshift router sled and palm router! This piece was perfect but it was broken in half. We glued it together with black epoxy, and flattening it out for a small table top. Excited to see if it turns out!
Second large portion assembled! This is going to be a large, wall length cabinet at Restored Counseling! These two sections will have six cabinet doors each, there will be a 50inch counter top between the two sections. And there will be a smaller set of cabinets stacked on top! So much extra storage space!
Started our biggest build to date, not sure if the shop has enough space for what’s about to be built!
Quick and easy maple cutting board! New planer makes these super easy to put together!
Finally got the second new tool unboxed!
New mini project in the works!
So excited to try this jointer out! A jointer will make the surface of the wood perfectly flat, usually for joining two boards together with a perfect seam, like a table top.
Came home with some new toys today! Been waiting so long for these shop additions!
Project delivered! Love how it turned out! The customer is going to be adding recessed light strips just inside the water fall top and sides for a cool glow. Can’t wait to see the final product!
More furniture for the wife’s office space! So much more still to go!
Don’t have many progress pictures of our current build. It’s a custom entertainment center that will have adjustable shelves, sliding barn doors, and a 2 inch thick waterfall table top that runs on either side. It’s going to be so heavy!
