✨absolutely love everything about this ✨Melinda makes the most beautiful king size quilts and when I opened the box on this one I was in awe 💕 first my favorite in greens and then that hit of hot pink, well 💕 we looked at both a thread to match the evergreen and the coral hits. Melinda chose coral and I think it turned out the best choice.

✨I have been wanting to post this awesome knitted star for a while now✨ so many loves for this quilt : the new fabulous lo & behold curated bundle, the multi colored star version and of course the speckled background and pink thread! This quilt has so many hidden easter eggs 💕

How adorable is this 💙 Brittany made it for her third nephew and now all of the brothers have similar quilts. As soon as I saw the sailboats and fish I knew this panto would be a perfect choice! Since it was a smaller quilt I scaled the design down a bit so the waves would be really noticeable. This might be a new favorite design, it looks awesome scales smaller and larger and is so versatile 💙

Fitting for as a recent make or finish on the longarm 💚🤎

🐓 day 8 | …I actually rarely just dig into scraps for an entire quilt. I have several quilts I would call scrappy as I use a collection of fat quarters or@mix and match, but don’t start from scraps often.
I took a virtual workshop this past fall with Ann Shaw on her method of piecing these fun chickens. It uses freezer paper, but is traditionally pieced once you have *auditioned* all of your fabrics. It was so much fun and a completely new to me method. I went into the workshop with no fabrics prepared or even thought about. Ann talks first about how important the eye of the chicken is and selecting this fabric should be done with care. Lying next to me was all the scraps from my Tula Pink La Pass EPP quilt I have been working on for a while now.
I picked the bag up, took a look through and found the yellow rainbow fabric, the perfect eye. Except for the larger solid teal pieces this was all scraps from the first 7 months of 💕🌈🦄. I had so much fun and loved all of the memories of La Pass that went into this funky chicken that I decided I may do a few more and make a small throw quilt. 🐓✨

💕 day 6 is charity…I was so fortunate to be able to quilt this quilt for a client. She helped the youth in her church piece this quilt for their dear teenage friend battling cancer for the second time 💕
Brooke reached out to me about the quilt and we quickly brainstormed ways for the teens to be involved with the process. We were able to find fabric markers and she put together a white backing that they all could write beloved notes to Ruby on. Swipe to see some of the drawings!
It quickly became one of the most special quilts I’ve ever quilted 💕

Hiya ✨ I am Sara, the face and hands behind Stitch Lab Quilting 💕

I live in Matthews, North Carolina, just outside of Charlotte and have been professionally long-arming for 2+ years now. I am a passionate person, no matter what I am doing. I have spent many years managing marketing for small businesses, managing outdoor retail and food & beverage, as well as teaching high school business class and helping my husband run our bicycle retail business. I will never forget one of my students saying Mrs. K, why don’t you have your own business?? Well, I took it to heart and here I am.

I have deep love for my family and dogs, running, cycling and the outdoors. We spend time traveling far and near to get a good mountain bike or road bike pedal in. I love to read and drink copious amounts of coffee {and sometimes wine 🍷} I dislove cleaning, mainly because I would rather be quilting 🧵

You can find me listening to rock n roll from the 60-70’s, marching to the beat of my own drum, buying too many clothes and fabric and continuing on the journey of being happy and healthy ✨

I am more thankful than I can ever express for those of you that have and continue to support me and my business allowing me to be the entrepreneur I always dreamed of and share my craft with the world 💕 I wouldn’t be here without you 🙏🏼

I always love going through panto ideas with Laura, her awesome husband Jim *Mac* loves to weigh in and it is always a fun back and forth 💕 since this quilt is for him and he set the block layout we had to go with his choice of simple cable and I think it is just perfect, I was so excited to finally get to stitch this one out! We chose a gorgeous burnt orange thread and it just melted into the top!

When Peggy and I first started working together earlier last year she gave me a long list of pantos she loved. I kept that list and as she sent me more quilts I would suggest when I thought we could use one of her favorites. 💕 as soon as I saw her scrappy Irish chain I knew this would be a fabulous match for the dissent panto. I can’t believe how gorgeous it turned out!

This quilt ended up being one of my very last finishes of 2023 before the flu knocked me down! What a way to end the longarming year! I loved every detail of this quilt and James piecing was so on point it was perfection! I know I will think about and look at these pictures for years to come ❤️ James chose to use a wool batting and it gave the best lift to the quilt and just that added detail it needed, I am so honored I got to be a part of finishing this quilt 🌈

This quilt was one of my favorite holiday quilts this year! I love the red, such a beautiful shade and the contrast of the backing just finished it off perfectly! Theresa made my day when she agreed to the gold thread on the backing and I am so excited to see what she did the binding in for this quilt ❤️🎄🎁 it was a gift to her 7 year old son and he helped pick out the backing - he has great taste!
