We had a fantastic weekend at Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome with our Color of Flight workshop. One of the highlights was having James Gurney and his wife Jeanette come out and join us on Friday. James is the author not only of the Dinotopia series, but also of "Color and Light" and Imaginative Realism", two must have instructional books for any representational artist. I made a point to do a quick interview with him.

I’m pretty excited that for the next 5 months I will be sharing a studio/gallery space with fellow artists Tammy Tappan and Pat Siuda at the Equine Instincts Gallery at the Tryon International Equestrian Center in Tryon, NC. Yesterday I spent several hours out at the TIEC as Tammy, Pat, and I rearranged the space to suit our needs and to make the most attractive and inviting gallery experience possible. We three have different styles and approaches to our art, but our art works well together and I am very excited to be working and showing alongside these two women. We actually have double coverage at the TIEC since we also feature work in the Equestrian Artists of Tryon next door. Original artwork and fine art reproductions are available for viewing and purchase in both galleries. My primary studio is still here in my home, but I will be spending a lot of weekends between now and the end of the year at the Equine Instincts Gallery so that I can make the most of this experience that I can, especially in October, November, and December.
