Wheel thrown and handmade ceramics.
Do I have a new obsession? Well, yes… yes I do!
I’m still really digging this color way from my last collection. I think the yellow base color plays really well with the red/blue accents. Don’t you?
Sometimes trying something new pays off. Peacock technique for the win.
So excited to be bringing all these pretties to this weekend!

So close to a shop restock!
Deep at its core the Lotus Flower symbolizes rebirth. With its cyclical nature, bud to bloom to retreat; it perfectly mirrors the concept of rebirth/renewal.
It helps us remember that endings are merely beginnings in disguise and that have daily opportunities for new starts.
Can’t wait to share the Carved Lotus Collection with you. I poured my heart into every single piece and I hope you love them as much as I do.

Day 5 this week of being intentional and moving my body. I needed this yoga class today.
Yesterday was an absolute sh*t show, there were lots of tears and a lot of stress.
Today, while not 100% on the other side, I’m feeling a little lighter. The weekend is coming and the sun is out again.
It might be messy, but I’ve got this.
I am so excited about creating in the shed studio!
Two Fridays ago I was finally able to call it “done” and officially start creating in the new space. I have been in the shed doing some form of creating every day since I got it all set up and I am still amazed at how pretty and inviting it is.
There are some additional things I would like to do, like insulating the roof, painting a mural, and adding more wall hangings; but I am super pleased with it. It is literally a dream come true.
I want to name it, but I am not sure what I should call it. Do you have any ideas? Drop them in the comments!

If you are new around here, you might not know that last month I launched my first true “collection”, where all pieces followed the same motif.
Daisies are often associated with new beginnings, representing the start of something fresh and positive; making them a popular selection to symbolize a new chapter in life… so why not allow them to symbolize a new chapter on my pottery journey?
As I embarked on this new chapter in my creative endeavors, I found myself drawn to the idea of infusing my work with the transformative energy associated with daisies. These flowers, with their joyful presence and resilient nature, spoke to me on a deep level, reminding me of the inherent beauty in embracing change and embarking on fresh beginnings.
2 years ago I would have never thought I’d have a building in my property as a dedicated pottery studio. But here I am today. The shed is here, the finishing of the interior is well underway and within the next couple of weeks I will be able to move in and fully realize this dream.
It has been a journey, but I am so so excited of where I am and the direction I am heading. I hope you stick around to experience it all with me.
I truly enjoy the small little details in every one of my pieces. Here are some of the things you will most likely find on my pots…
Unglazed outside surface
Smooth glazed handle
Small glaze details to enhance the sensory experience
Raised surfaces
Small carved patters
Brand logo on the bottom
If you own one of my pieces, what detail is your most favorite?

As a small business there are plenty of challenges we face and to be perfectly honest the one I have been having the toughest time with is driving traffic to my website and converting those visits to sales!
I have been having really good success at in person events, but there are only so many of those I can attend on a given month; so getting my online sales to flourish has been my goal for this year.
And let me tell you, it is hard. There is so much that goes into having a successful online shop. There is a lot of marketing involved and for some of us that does not come easy.
I have made some pretty good strides this year, but still not quite where I want to be at.
If you have a small business, what challenges are you facing? Do you have any tips for my current challenge? I would love it if you shared below.
It’s been a month to the day since I launched the Daisy Collection on Valentine’s day, and how serendipitous (I love this word) it is that March Meet the Maker day 14 is Collections. Like seriously? How perfect is this? LOL.
Each piece in this collection is near and dear to my heart. I truly poured my whole self into making them and for the first time in my short clay journey I feel like I made a batch of work that felt cohesive in its entirety.
It is hard for me to pick “favorites” among all of these pieces, so picking what photos to go with this post was no easy feat (I wish I could post beauty shots of all of them).
Do you have any favorites? Comment below!
I can’t believe we are almost at the mid-point of the month! Today is March Meet the Maker day 13 and the prompt is Signature Style.
If this prompt had been a part of last year’s March Meet the Maker… I do not think I would have been able to properly speak to it. I have just now all but developed my signature style, during the past 4 months or so. To be perfectly honest, it is still evolving quite a bit but the general direction I am going is the same.
What is this “signature style”? Colors, texture elements, geometric shapes and a variety of other imagery (this is what will define each collection).
Bright colors bring me joy, so I incorporate them in my making. I truly love the feel of bare clay on the outside of my mugs and cups (not just the ones I make but the ones I collect), so you can expect my items to display this love.
Each piece is a combination of all of these elements in their very unique way; and even though I am still evolving this style to perhaps incorporate other elements, I can’t see myself steering away from these staple parts… color and texture.
My first market of the season is right around the corner and I thought this was the perfect time to show you what I am making. Just in time for March Meet the Maker Day 11!
Currently on my worktable, I am putting some finishing touches on a batch of thumb mugs, a few noodle bowls and a set of tarot card magnets to get them ready for their first fire. It is the first time I am making the tarot card magnets and I am really curious to see how they will turn out.
Which of these items are you most looking for?
March Meet the Maker day 8.
I love telling the story about how I came up with my brand name and logo. It is heavily influenced by my life experiences and I am so so proud of it.
What originated it?? I am from Latin America (more specifically Argentina) and the meaning of the Lotus flower is something that I deeply identify with. The Lotus symbolizes many things and among those things are: rebirth, resilience and strength.
If you have read any of my personal story, you might know that I came to the US in my mid 20’s; having left everything and everyone I had known my whole life and started fresh on arrival. That experience is what I consider a rebirth; and it required a lot of strength and courage, as well as resilience to get through the though times (of which there were many).
The Lotus flower emerges from the mud and in its most basic definition clay IS mud. So it was only logical, at least in my brain, to combine all these things and use them as a brand name.
My brand is all about finding beauty on every day products, discovering, expanding, trying new things and never being discouraged by an unfavorable outcome.
What a fun prompt for today! March Meet the Maker day 7.
Combinations.
My mind immediately goes to… you guessed it.. colors! LOL
Pictured here are some of my favorite combinations to put on my pots.
Which one is your favorite?

Tasks
Running a pottery business is not just creativity, messy throwing and decorating. There are a lot of behind the scenes tasks I do to get products into your hands.
Sanding the bottom of pots so they do not scratch your surfaces, product photography, listings on the website, newsletters, social media posts, packaging, mailing, market prep, market set up and tear down… the list could go on and on.
As with anything, there are favorite parts and parts we do not like one bit… My least favorite: sanding pot bottoms. My most favorite: market set up, it is so fun to find new ways to display my art!
March Meet the maker day 5!
Today’s prompt is evolution and I think it is fun way to look back!
I think the biggest display of my evolution is how I have grown into my own decorating style and finally found my footing on what type of items I like to create.
I always knew mugs would be my favorite, and it has been so fun to see the progress. Scroll through the photos to see a backwards progression of where I am now vs where I started!
Day 2 for is here! The Human Touch
With my craft being handmade ceramics; every single part of this process involves my hands doing all of the work. From throwing the pots on the wheel, all the way to loading and unloading the kiln for the final firing.
Being 100% handmade, there is almost a guarantee that 2 pieces will never be exactly the same. The mug shape might be slightly different, the handle attachment might be higher or lower depending on the piece, the colors will vary slightly based on where in the kiln they were when the piece got fired. My hands do all of it.
You might be thinking: But Danni, what about the pieces you pour into molds instead of throw? Those are also 100% full of the human touch. Pouring the clay into the mold, dumping the excess out, removing the form out of the mold and cleaning up the seams. My hands do all of it.
Every single part of the process, all the way to listing, selling and packaging up the work so it makes it into your hands. My hands do all of it.
And right now? I would not have it any other way.

It’s March Meet the Maker day 1! A most fun event organized by .
Today’s prompt is . Given that I introduced myself a few posts ago (go find my picture on the grid if you are curious) I figured today I could tell you about how I got into clay.
Once upon a time, in what feels like a completely different life, I was into scrapbooking. As one does, I added a bunch of people that did paper crafting into my socials feed. When I stopped pursuing that interest, I removed most of them from my instagram with the exception of one woman who had expanded her artistic pursuits into other mediums like painting and yes, you guessed it, pottery.
It was as simple as that… I saw her making pots on the wheel, saw how cool that was and decided… why not give it a try?
I found a local 2 hour wheel throwing workshop… and signed up on a whim. It was HARD, but I was instantly hooked! I left with 3 VERY lopsided pots that I am still super proud of. As a matter of fact, if you are local and have come to one of my shows; you will have seen one of them on display… holding candy.
From there, it escalated pretty quickly. I was lucky enough to be able to invest on setting up an in home studio and have never looked back. It is a fun “origins” story for sure. Is there a part of it that surprises you?
📷:
I spent the past 2 weeks feeling completely uninspired to do any kind of pottery work. Uninspired to throw, hand-build, decorate… you name it, I had zero inspiration to do ANY of it.
I think I arrived at this place via a combination of a few things: having to take the first 2 weeks of the month to recover from my eyelid surgery, launching the Daisy collection and all the steps that go into making the launch as successful as possible, receiving rejection letters from the biggest shows I applied for, and my other job being super demanding (this is something I knew would be a reality the first 6 months of this year).
I decided that instead of trying to force the work, I would just sit and allow this feeling to pass. It took a bit, and I am still not completely out of the woods, but some of my inspiration has come back.
I spent this past weekend decorating some pots I had set to the side on my damp box and while I am still feeling a little drained; I can see the light at the end of the tunnel.
I am curious to know though, what have you done when you find yourself uninspired? What tricks to you have? Would you share with me anything you have tried that has helped? Drop to the comments and let me know!
