The Maynard Fine Arts Theatre will be hosting the only public MA screening of the award winning documentary, “Vishniac." on Sunday, March 10 at 4:00 PM.

The film tells the life story of Roman Vishniac, the world-renowned photographer, who traveled throughout Eastern Europe from 1935-1938, taking pictures of life in Jewish communities on the eve of the Holocaust. These incredible photographs of “ordinary Jewish life" later proved to provide the last visual records of an entire world.

The film will be introduced by Avi and Rebecca Vichniac, cousins of Roman Vishniac. Immediately following the film, a Q and A session will take place.

Admission is $15 and tickets can be purchased at the MFAT box office.

Not at Fine Arts Theatre but, a truly noteworthy news item to pass along. Our house has already started streaming a few days ago. Such a treat to watch it again. Loved it the first time and still do!!

Northern Exposure available on streaming for first time ever Northern Exposure is streaming for the first time ever. As of January, all six seasons of the series are now available on Prime Video with the majority of its original soundtrack.

We will be open next Tuesday, December 26th playing Wonka, The Color Purple and The Boys in the Boat. We look forward to seeing you!

From acclaimed director Alexander Payne, THE HOLDOVERS follows a curmudgeonly instructor (Paul Giamatti) at a New England prep school who is forced to remain on campus during Christmas break to babysit the handful of students with nowhere to go. Eventually he forms an unlikely bond with one of them -- a damaged, brainy troublemaker (newcomer Dominic Sessa) -- and with the school's head cook, who has just lost a son in Vietnam (Da'Vine Joy Randolph).
