Omar Quintanilla has been serving District 3 in the McAllen City Commission since May 2017. Omar is a Senior Vice President of Corporate Banking at Frost Bank.
He has been a strong advocate of issues relating to improving drainage, beautifying and creating safer neighborhoods, small business assistance and economic development opportunities. After leaving his hometown of Mission Texas in 1994, he studied Business Administration at St. Mary’s University where he graduated with an emphasis in Corporate Finance. His career started at Frost Bank in San Anton

SHARK ATTACK ON SPI: The shark attack happened at approximately 11 a.m. along Beach Access 14, near Wanna Wanna Beach Bar and Grill. One man is hospitalized as of late. https://www.valleycentral.com/news/local-news/shark-attack-at-south-padre-island-leaves-one-hospitalized/
UPDATE: Multiple sharks have been spotted very close to the shore on South Padre Island. There are multiple shark attacks as of July 4th 2:00 pm. More details to follow. Exercise extreme caution when in the water and always keep eyes on children.
The City will distribute sandbags on Friday in preparation for the storm.
