I continue to believe that catering success comes from relationship building and community service. Who’d have thought national recognition would come from a journey and business model that started in one tiny Subway, in one tiny, North Carolina town, more than a decade ago?

What an outstanding way to start a day! I got to meet with Executive Director Howard Lipman of the Subway Cares Foundation to discuss ideas on how to better serve our communities and employees. I’m proud to be a part of a brand dedicated to giving back and strengthening our local towns, communities, and people. Let’s go!

It’s official. Team Subway is Back-to-Back Champs for the Chatham County 12U boys division! Another outstanding group of kiddos eager to learn, hustle, and give it their all. Subway led. Subway fed.

Today I had a quick interview to discuss my catering operations and mindset. So here is a quick spoiler. Catering is about building relationships, and being active in your community. That’s it. Three and a half weeks ago we took over and opened our first location in Charlotte, NC. This weekend we partnered up and catered more than 1,000 subs for Special Olympics and I couldn’t have been more proud of our team. Early mornings and tons of subs were no match for our catering team! No order is ever too large, and catering is where it’s at! Let’s go!!!

We are in the “Most Magical Place on Earth” down in Orlando, Florida, learning best practices for continued growth within the best QSR brand around. It should be an informative and exciting couple of days. Let’s grow!!!!

This was the perfect way to start a VERY busy Wednesday. Thank you to Pittsboro Elementary for the invitation to read at Spanish story time for Hispanic Heritage Month. The kiddos are wonderful, and always ask the best questions!

Today was an exciting day as I had the opportunity to step into two new locations in Charlotte, NC. 250, Footlong boxed lunches were just a warmup for this crew as we helped cater UNC’s Summer Football Camp. When I asked if they thought they could handle our 800 box order next week, they responded with an emphatic, “absolutely”. I am incredibly proud of this team right here!

It is always such a pleasure to sit in the same room with so many bright, energetic, and forward thinking minds. Subway continues to push the envelope with its marketing campaign; and to be given the opportunity to observe and have a voice in the direction of the brand is a real honor. We continue to dominate our competition with the quality and value we offer. Q2 rocked, and we are only going to continue to roll! Here we go!

It’s always so fun to get to talk to local students. While we discuss Subway and business ownership in general, the reality is that most don’t know what they’ll do at the age of 12. However, a strong work ethic translates anywhere. Adaptability itself may be the most important attribute in an entrepreneur, but again, this skill translates to any profession. So do your best in all you do, and no matter where you are, success will follow. Excited for the futures of each one of these kiddos!

I’m excited and honored to be able to announce that I have been appointed to the FAF National Advisory Board with Subway. I look forward to discussing the direction, marketing, and other opportunities for the brand in this upcoming year; and hope to have the brand and franchisees as a whole benefit from my presence on the board. I can’t wait to get to work with the rest of this team in what should be a major year for Subway. We are just beginning.
