Why is Curly Hair more prone to becoming tangled?

Curly hair is more prone to tangling because of its structure. The twists and turns in curly hair make the cuticle layer, the outermost part of the hair strand, more likely to catch on neighboring strands. Additionally, curly hair is often drier than straight hair, which can contribute to increased friction and tangling. Regular moisturizing and using a wide-tooth comb can help manage tangles in curly hair.

As many of you may have noticed I recently took an unplanned hiatus on social media; and as some of you may know, my spouse was diagnosed with an aggressive degenerative tissue disease that lead to the amputation of his hand and forearm. This lead me to take a step back from social media to spend more time with my family.
As of this week my spouse has been medically cleared of his disorder and is on the fast track to recovery! A sigh of relief after a 1.5yr battle.
I wanted to say a huge thank you to all my clients who have checked in on me and been so supportive, the kindness and community shown to me truly reminded me why I do what I do and how much I truly love this career and my clientele.
All this being said; I’m very much looking forward to the future as Your Local Curly Stylist and am now very excited to introduce new clientele to my chair!

How to Protect Your Curls during Summer
1. Apply a rich, moisturizing product before getting hair wet in the pool, lake, ocean
2. Deep Condition every 1-2 Weeks
3. Apply Styling Products with SPF
4. Do NOT tie up wet hair
5. Use a Swim Safe shampoo and deeply cleanse if you get your hair wet in a pool, hot tub, ect.
