Virginia Chaos

There has been a lot of activity on this page recently, just a note for the folks visiting here the 16U Chaos Black made the decision to fold back in January. I suspect the folks coming here are looking for the 14U Chaos Black, which means Coach Thorne and his girls must be having a strong summer.

Playing ASA in Burlington, NC this weekend, great competition down here. 2-2 in pool play in the HS division, elimination starts at 11:45 tomorrow morning.

The 16U VA Chaos Black will be holding tryouts this coming Sunday, 8/24 at 2 pm on field 9 at Atlee LL. We have a particular emphasis on 3rd base and middle infield, but will entertain good players at most any position. Won in the Quarterfinals, lost in the semis. Tied for 3rd in Gold at Queen of the Hill 18U, nice weekend.

Another good day, 2-1-1 to wrap-up pool play and secure the #2 seed in our pool. We'll see the TSI Lady Titans at noon tomorrow, Ironbridge Field #10.

2 wins, 1 loss on day 1 of 18U Queen of the Hill. Shooting for at least 3-1 today, and a berth in the Gold bracket for elimination tomorrow.

12 noon vs the Augusta Flames.
3 pm vs Maryland Crush.
4:30 pm vs Blue Ridge Sudden Impact.

Saturday's schedule is:

12 noon vs Shippensburg Extreme.
3 pm vs Shen Valley Mavericks.
6 pm vs Richmond Rundown
7:30 pm vs Diamond Fever.

All games at Harry Daniel Park off Ironbridge Rd in Chesterfield.

Please join the 16U VA Chaos Black this Wednesday, June 25th at Marty's Bar & Grill. A percentage of breakfast, lunch and dinner proceeds will go to the team, and it will be used to pay expenses for our national tournament travel. Any support we get is certainly appreciated.

Very proud of the 16U Chaos Black for their effort today playing up to 18U, 3-0 with wins of 15-0, 3-0 and 8-1. For all their hard work we somehow end up playing the overall #1 seed Williamsburg Starz Gold tomorrow morning, I guess the tournament organizer doesn't want the 16U team around in his 18U tournament. Maybe we'll ruin his day.......

2nd 18U tournament of the summer this weekend, starting at 9 am going until about 4:30 Saturday. Looking forward to playing Gold competition on Sunday.

Tough Saturday, lost a heart-breaker to the Edge 4-3 to start the day and battled the older teams throughout the day. Sunday turned out better, 11-3 and 9-2 wins to start the day before losing 2-1 to the Manassas Blaze Gold. Very proud of their effort playing up, held our own in our losses and looked good in our wins. Proved again we win on Sunday, when it really counts.

18U NSA States this weekend, 10:30 Edge Robinette and 1:30 Manassas Blaze. Should be quite a test for our first year 16U team. All games at RF&P in Glen Allen.

A very belated happy birthday to Kendall Ramey, from 4/8. I'm not sure how I missed it, but another 16 year old will soon be on the road from the Chaos.

Congrats to Laura Kate Moss for picking up the pitching win (and hitting a 2 run double) in Atlee's 11-4 win in the Conference 11 semifinals over Deep Run.

Congrats to Erin "Big E" Watkins for her RBI double in the bottom of the 9th inning, the game winning walk-off in Hanover's 7-6 win over Dinwiddie in the Conference 20 semifinals. Nice work 19.

Laura Kate Moss pitched one heck of a game for Atlee HS last night, leading her team to a 1-0 win over Glen Allen. Complete game 2-hitter with 16 K's, your Chaos team mates are very proud of that accomplishment.
