Precious dogs are ready (or will be ready soon) for their forever home!! Have you applied?!
🐾Meet Titan🐾
His date of birth is 1/11/18. He was extremely excited, energetic, and spinning circles when we got him out of the vehicle at intake. Very happy, loves everyone, and desires all the pets from you!
Titans foster reports he keeps up with and gets along with all her dogs and attests to this sweet boy being full of energy! He will be within our foster program for a couple months while he undergoes medical treatment. During that time, we will continue to work on home manners and basic commands! Although, in the short time he has been with us he has learned sit and down already! Titan is a sweet beautiful boy who will make an energetic person the perfect companion!
🐾 Meet Luna 🐾
Check out what her foster mom says!
“She is a perfect, sweet, little bundle of energy! She was not at all fazed by the foster's four large rambunctious dogs. She tries her best to keep up with them.
At nine weeks she is obviously not housebroken but we are working on that.
She loves toys especially chew toys, she's confident and independent, loves to run in the grass and is very entertaining.
Luna will be a wonderful addition to a loving family.”
🐾 Meet Wally 🐾
Wally is about a year old and weighed 59 pounds at intake. He’s on the shorter side and has a muscular build. His coat is gorgeous and soft and he has a beautiful square head. He’s a goofy pup, but learns quickly and has a huge desire to please. He also has a very soft mouth and takes treats easily. Wally is a little shy at first but shortly he warms up to those around him.
He’s already been on multiple pack walks with his two Husky foster sisters and is learning quickly good house manners. He’s very interested in squirrels and birds on their walks and loves meeting new people and dogs.

Medical Fostering is something that we are currently in desperate need of - we need fosters who are willing to see our dogs through the healing phase including but not limited to procedures and more specifically heartworm treatment. A frequent question we get asked is if Heart-worm disease is contagious to other dogs. The answer is NO, heart worm disease is spread through infected mosquitos which then bite your pet!
Heart-worm treatment is a longer process for both the dog and the foster. These pups will be with you for at least 90 days provided their treatment goes well. Needs of a medical foster include but are not limited to: limiting exercise, ability to transport to and from the vet, punctuality of treatment, dedication, and lots of snuggles! Each dog is closely monitored for adverse reactions! Goldens901 will, however, be walking along side you every step of the way to encourage, answer questions, and support you in any way that we can! Wont you join our pack today to be a medical foster!!
Check out what Bunny’s foster has to say:
“She is doing great! She LOVES to play fetch and can catch almost every tennis ball you throw for her, she is also a great swimmer and enjoys a dip in the pool after a long game of fetch. She is eating science diet senior formula kibble with a spoonful of pedigree choice cuts in gravy canned food to make it more interesting…she would not eat it dry when we first got her but the canned food did the trick. Her favorite friend in our little pack is our 1 year old golden… Bunny (Mazie) has plenty of energy to keep up with her. They became fast friends once she got settled. She is always up for a cuddle though and she won’t hesitate to give you a snoot boop or a paw when she is wanting more attention.
She is very vocal and you will not have to wonder what’s happening in your neighborhood with her around. If she can get to the window she will keep watch and alert you if anything out of the ordinary is going on.
She sleeps in her kennel at night and sometimes kennels herself when she wants a break. It’s her safe place so we just leave the door open for her. She will come, sit, stay and lay down…we’re working on leave it. She pulls on a leash when she’s excited but once you get going she settles.
She wants to please and as long as you let her know what you want and stay consistent she will cooperate. She’s also great on the grooming table, she has had a few baths and a couple of grinch toe trims since she’s been here. She’s doesn’t mind it at all!
We do homemade treats and dog safe people fruits and veggies on occasion…she hates blueberries but loves carrots. 😜”
Bunny is ready to thrive in her forever home!

Here’s some helpful info from the American Kennel Club to help your pup this holiday season!
“Create a Safe Haven for Your Dog
Morgan recommends creating a place where your dog will hopefully feel comfortable. “You should get your pet used to a calming environment beforehand. Dogs are den animals — they’re looking for that cave to get away from it all,” she explains.
Try setting up an area in a quiet space away from windows, such as a basement or a larger closet. so that they can’t hear or see fireworks. Use a crate if that’s where your dog feels safe, and make sure to provide them with familiar toys and treats. Morgan says she likes to freeze bone broth in ice cube trays as a summer treat.
Play White Noise
You can try leaving a fan, TV, or sound machine on to help mask the sounds of the fireworks. “There’s some classical music called ‘Through a Dog’s Ear’ that has been shown to have calming effects for dogs”
Comfort Your Dog
If you can, try staying home with your dog or leaving them in the hands of a trusted person. One of Morgan’s relatives usually stays with her dog in the closet to help soothe the animal.
“You absolutely can and should comfort your dog if he’s afraid,” says Stanley. “The key here is in how you do so. It’s important to remain calm and use a soothing, even tone. Petting them can be comforting — long, slow, firm strokes along the length of their body are typically very soothing.”
The one thing to avoid? Seeming frantic in any way, says Stanley. Rapidly saying, “It’s OK, it’s OK, it’s OK” in a higher-than-average pitch may make your dog think that there really is something to fear. Try your best to remain calm and reassuring to help your canine companion.
Walk Them Before the Fireworks Start
Head out for your long walk before the sun sets to increase the chances that you’ll avoid the sounds. When you do go out, you’ll want to ensure your dog is secure on a leash before your walk.
“Double-check the fit of your dog’s collar or harnessbefore going outside. A leash, even if you have a fenced-in area, is a great added safety measure to help keep your dog close to you and under control should they get startled,” says Stanley.”
Britta is almost finished with her heartworm treatment and she is thinking about her forever home. She likes to be near her human but doesn’t want to be right on you. She is very cautious about the furniture and will only get up when invited. She barks with joy at dinner time and when we get home! She loves a nylabone to chew on and played with a toy for the first time just the other day. She is house trained and except for the first night we have not crated her. Loves walk time and gets along great with my two. She is a sensitive soul and just wants someone to be with her humans!! Won’t you consider adding Britta to your pack!! 🩷
Look how precious Bunny is! She is waiting for her new home!!😍
Sweet Maggie has gotten a raving review from her foster who also adopted her! Just look at this smile!
Ten Tips for Dog Owners and Memphis Heat
1. Keep your pets indoors when temperatures are extreme and in the shade when they are outdoors.
2. Walk your pets early in the morning or later in the evening to avoid the hottest part of the day.
3. Give pets plenty of water to avoid dehydration. Ensure the water stays cool and avoid using stainless steel bowls, which can become hot. When you walk your pet or take your pet outside, carry water with you.
4. Never leave your animals alone in a parked vehicle. Temperatures in cars can increase rapidly and become lethal.
5. Animals with short noses such as Bulldogs, Pugs, Boston Terriers and Persian cats, are especially vulnerable in the heat. Dogs and cats cool themselves by breathing through their mouths, but those with flat faces cannot cool as quickly and need extra attention.
6. If your pet is panting excessively, drooling, struggling to walk, is lethargic, or has bloody diarrhea or vomiting, know that that these are potentially signs of overheating.
7. Windows in the home that are open should have screens. Pets can fall out of open, unsecured windows.
8. Be careful with dogs on asphalt in the heat. Not only are their paws sensitive but because their bodies are closer to the asphalt, they can overheat more easily.
9. As always, if you think your pet is in distress due to the heat, call your veterinarian as soon as possible.
10. If you are hot, your pet is too!
🐾Haven Update🐾
Haven is a sweet old soul who has been working very hard on her house manners. Her foster states that one day they just woke up and it clicked so they have continued and haven’t had any issues since. Although with a new home some grace will probably need to be given as living inside is new to her. Haven walks fairly well on a leash but does tend to pull. She can be redirected with this though! She gets along with her foster sibling and they even eat/sleep side by side with no issues! Haven has been introduced to handful of dogs and behaved appropriately.
If you are interested in adopting Haven please fill out the adoption application attached below. She will be posted on the website soon

Introducing Matilda, Noel, and Piper! Stay tuned to learn all about these sweet pups!
Meet Bunny, a 7 to 9-year-old female golden mix. She is also HW NEGATIVE! Yay!
Bunny appears to be housebroken. She also jumped up easily into intakes SUV and rode well to the clinic. She greeted dogs when arriving to the vet and interacted appropriately with them. She has a little bit of a longer snout, and looks a little bit saluki-ish, but she has a normal sweet golden personality.
Her foster mom reports that she appears to be housebroken, loves the orthopedic dog bed, and is hesitant to get on the sofa even with encouragement. Bunny is transitioning well with her foster siblings, she is tolerable to the younger pup in the house but would likely thrive with other older dogs in her future home!
Fostering a dog is one of the most rewarding experiences you can have as a volunteer (other than adopting, of course).
By taking a golden into your home you are giving your foster dog the time he/she needs to be ready for adoption. More often than not, YOU are helping us learn more about the dog so he or she can end up in the best home possible.
Quite often you are socializing the dog to a home environment and possibly getting him used to being around other pets and different types of people! In some cases, you’ll see a shy timid dog absolutely blossom. We hope that you will consider fostering with us as we are always in need of volunteers in this way.
We are willing to work with you based on your home and personal needs - feel free to add stipulations or foster requests when you fill out the foster application!
As summer approaches the need for Vacation fosters rise! Are you ready and willing to volunteer but only on a short term basis? This role is perfect for you!
When filling out the application, just specify you would like be a short term foster!!

Sweet Bella says Happy Easter!! 🤍
🐾Meet Bella🐾
Bella is an energetic 2 year old Golden! Her date of birth is January 31, 2022. Bella greeted our transport team with a great deal of enthusiasm and excitement. She was a little bit hesitant to get in the van but once she did, she sat down and rode beautifully. She rode well in the backseat, curled up in a ball most of the time. She has been a very nice houseguest thus far and didn’t complain about being in her crate. She explored the backyard, but was happy to come back for petting, and chooses to be near her person if she can.
Bella is crate trained, housebroken, walks pretty well on a leash with a harness. She doesn’t pull terribly, but could stand a little bit of training. She knows several commands like sit, paw, wait, and stay. She doesn’t hold the wait and stay as well as she could, but for the most part it’s a good start. She loves to constantly give you her paw and has welcomed any and all attention and petting she could get. She also likes to lick your hand while you’re petting her. She knows her name and comes when called. She likes to carry the end of her leash in her mouth, silly sweet girl!
She’s smaller in frame, stature, and at a very good weight at 65 pounds. She has a beautiful, healthy coat and pearly white teeth. According to her family, she likes toys but gets bored with them, and for the most part prefers bones if she can get them. She did root around in the toybox and found a couple that she enjoyed playing with on her first night with us!
She has a HUGE, VERY LONG pink tongue, and it’s hanging out of her mouth most of the time, but she also has a beautiful smile on her face. She’s very inquisitive, but also a little bit hesitant when approaching new things. Bella is going to make someone special very happy with all her energy and affection!
