Every year, during the second week of April (April 14 – 20, 2024), the telecommunications personnel in the public safety community are recognized through National Public Safety Telecommunicator Week. This week is a time to celebrate those that dedicate their lives to service behind the scenes.
Chief Campbell and the West Memphis Police Department would like to say THANK YOU to all of you for everything that you do to serve your communities and our great state through the 9-1-1 system. The sacrifices you make and your dedication and commitment to your profession in public safety are appreciated. We encourage all of you to celebrate and honor yourselves and your co-workers as we all know that this service can go unrecognized throughout the year.
In 2023 The West Memphis Police Communications Center answered 27,197 9-1-1 calls and 62,747 non-9-1-1 calls, or admin calls. Just in the 4 short months of 2024, these incredible dispatchers have answered 7,395 9-1-1 calls and 17,373 non-9-1-1 calls.
