Quartet for Our Times
We’re excited for award-winning Dior Quartet to come to Memphis! Camp students get to work with them in the second week and get free tickets to see them live! Where are the members from? Israel, Korea-Canada, Saint Lucia, and the USA Where does their name come from? “D’or” which means gold in French. It's a rare, elegant, and malleable element, precious to those who own it and often gifted to loved ones. Most importantly, gold holds the memory of the earth and absorbs the stories of the people who give it shape and form. Where can I get tickets? www.prizmensemble.org/tickets

We're excited for Imani Winds to come to Memphis! Camp students have a chance to work with them on the first day of camp and have free tickets to their concert on June 3! Get your tickets on our website. #memphis #chambermusic

PRIZM Spotlight
It was wonderful to find out that Sphinx Competition finalist Aaron Olguin was competing again this year because we got to reconnect with him as a PRIZM alum. Aaron attended PRIZM's Summer Camp back in 2010-2011! Aaron Olguin now serves as principal bass for Norway’s Trondheim Symphony Orchestra and most recently placed second in the Sphinx Competition. Grab a drink and listen to our conversation with Aaron about his music journey, ego, nerves, inspiration, and "listening outside of yourself". Watch the rest on our YouTube Channel! PRIZM Summer Camp
What do PRIZM campers look forward to learning at PRIZM?

It's not what you think! Throwback to when the young muscians were learning to "live, breathe, and die" for each other. This workshop was about watching and imitating their friends. Learning to watch and listen to each other is important in chamber music and in life.

Music has an incredible way of bringing youth together and forging lasting friendships. 🍀 The Clover Quartet's friendship began this summer, uniting over music by Rhiannon Giddens. This piece was commissioned for Fifty for the Future: The Kronos Learning Repertoire, a project of the Kronos Performing Arts Association. The score and parts are available for free online. kronosquartet.org @rhiannongiddens #prizmensemble

The camaraderie these students share knows no boundaries, no differences. Age, background, or experience – they all melt away, leaving only the connection of music.
