David Shaw singer-songwriter and founding member of The Revivalists has shared his intensely personal new single, “Take A Look Inside,” available today via his own Yokoko Records. The song is a meditation on past traumas and a beacon of love, hope, and positivity going forward

"I went out to my studio, and this idea came to me,” says David Shaw. “I made the beginning riff followed by the beat, bassline, and the chords. I wrote the lyrics, and it was done. It started with one of those meditation experiments to just sit down. It’s a snapshot of where I’m at in my life at this time.”

Produced by Shaw at Esplanade Studios in his adopted home base of New Orleans, LA, “Take A Look Inside” follows Shaw’s powerful “Alabama,” his heartfelt response to the ongoing battle against women’s reproductive rights as well as this spring’s Alabama Supreme Court ruling that embryos created during IVF fertility treatments should be considered children. Shaw’s frustration – as well as the recent birth of his daughter – inspired his emotional return to the feelings originally captured while recording at the historic FAME Studios in Muscle Shoals, AL.

Shaw will mark the arrival of “Take A Look Inside” – and more new music to come – with a series of eagerly awaited headline dates. This weekend will see Shaw hosting David Shaw’s Big River Get Down, a very special hometown festival event set for Saturday, August 3 at Hamilton, OH’s RiversEdge Amphitheater.

Jack White has announced the official release of his acclaimed new album, "No Name", arriving at all DSPs and streaming services on Friday, August 2 following its clandestine white-label appearance at Third Man Records locations where customers were slipped, guerilla-style, free unmarked vinyl copies in their shopping bags.

A blue indie vinyl edition will be available in Third Man Records retail stores on Thursday, August 1, and in select independent record stores across the world the following day.

True to his DIY roots, this album was recorded, produced, and mixed by White at his Third Man Studio throughout 2023 and 2024, pressed to vinyl at Third Man Pressing, and released by Third Man Records.

Produced by Butch Walker (Taylor Swift, Green Day, Weezer) and recorded at his Nashville studio, the 12-track album merges her revelatory storytelling with a darkly cinematic twist on the rootsy alt-rock of her 2021 breakthrough "Wary + Strange." With its sonic palette encompassing everything from fuzzed-out guitars to gilded pedal steel and Kiah’s exquisitely graceful banjo work, "Still + Bright" fully affirms her as an artist of both daring originality and uncompromising depth.

"Still + Bright" explores the vast expanse of Kiah's inner world and interests: her deep-rooted affinity for Eastern philosophies and spiritual traditions, a near-mystical connection with the natural environment, the life lessons learned in her formative years, and much more. Featuring collaborations with S.G. Here are 5️⃣ things Caleb wants you to know about his video, which features some very fancy footwork!

1️⃣The producers baby was sleeping in the next room so I had to sing the first cut super softly. We had a couple of takes, but kept the original whisper version.
2️⃣We wrote this the night before we recorded it, last song we wrote for the album.
3️⃣The truck shown on the lock screen in the beginning is the actual silverado referenced
4️⃣The “ooh ooh’s” in the song were inspired by the rolling stone’s “Miss You.”
5️⃣The Lyric “This kinda bed don’t have to be made” is a reference to Joe Diffie’s “Pickup Man”

"Southern Galactic" represents the emotional and artistic moment in which Hutchinson finds himself. He’s evolving, having fun, and taking risks all the while remaining true to the songwriting and storytelling he loves that has made him the artist he is. Framing the music—which ranges from the chug and twang of the classic spaghetti western gunfight riffs to gritty DIY indie garage rock to 80’s synth-bathed electronica—is Hutchinson’s characteristic sincerity, humor, wit, and wisdom weaved throughout the lyrics.

3️⃣Before writing the song, we were chatting about how we both deal with a sense of depression during the cold winter season of Canada and how the summer helps get out of that depression, which is what the song is about
4️⃣We wrote this song in one writing session in 3hours. The words and the feelings was just pouring out and it all felt so natural
5️⃣We wanted it to have a real message for people dealing with depression but to sonically feel like a summer anthem that you can sing at the top of your lungs.

This fun-loving official music video depicts King and Wallace letting loose after down days. They embrace personal struggles, rejecting the notion of concealing depression. With upbeat energy and cheerful, soaring melodies, King says the song “symbolizes the journey from the shadows of depression to the light of joy, burning down the walls that confine people in darkness.”
