We are so excited to announce that 2 of our students have finally received their ijaazahs in reading the Quran with Tajweed. They also memorized all of the rules of Tajweed, Maa shaa Allaah. We now have 7 recipients of the Tajweed ijaazah and pray for many more to come. Pray for these young women!

The MTI House now has a fence up on all sides and is locked up to decrease the chances of any theft from the property. Alhamdu Lillaah! Also, not pictured here, the electrical has been partially completed, just enough to have power for the workers to continue working and to set up some wifi for a security system. Ask Allaah to protect it because these folks move FAST in this town. They got robbing construction sites down to a science! 😳

Windows should be coming in about 2-3 weeks, in shaa Allaah. I can't WAIT for those!! Yaa Allaah! Such an exciting journey!! 😃 Thank you all for your support!

Measured Tones Institute of Quran Statement

As we stand in unwavering solidarity with the brave students and faculty on university campuses around the world, Measured Tones Institute of Quran (MTI) expresses its profound support for their courageous stance against the ongoing atrocities in Gaza and the West Bank. These committed individuals remind us all of the critical importance of standing for justice, even in the face of significant opposition.

MTI vehemently condemns, in the strongest possible terms, the actions of the governments of the United States, Israel, Germany, Canada, and any others that support these injustices through aid and political backing. Such support for these oppressive measures must not only be questioned but resolutely opposed.

Furthermore, we extend our criticism to the university administrations that have chosen to arrest, suspend, or dismiss students and faculty members who have taken a stand. This repression within educational institutions, places that should encourage critical thinking and uphold freedom of expression, is deeply troubling.

We call on more universities and their communities to join this necessary fight. Let this movement not lose its momentum or become stagnant. We urge you to continue amplifying your voices, organizing with greater intensity, and pushing for substantial change. Do not be intimidated by police presence or administrative pressures. Your cause is just, and your resolve must be firm.

To the brave souls advocating for the rights of Palestinians, MTI stands with you. Your courage inspires us, and together, through relentless effort and unwavering solidarity, we will make a difference. Stand firm, keep the spirit of resistance alive, and never give up the fight for justice and human dignity.

May Allaah bless you all on this day of Eid and may He be especially Merciful to the people of Palestine, Sudan, Yemen, Xinjian, and the rest of the Ummah! Let’s celebrate this day while not forgetting our brothers and sisters!

7 intentions to make before bidding Ramadan farewell.

Sh. Habib Umar Bin Hafiz was asked the question, “What intentions should we make for AFTER Ramadan?” His response was the following:

It is good to make these intentions before Ramadan is over so that the reward for our intentions is multiplied.

1. We intend to be among those whose entire year is Ramadan.
2. ⁠We intend that our connection with Allaah is expressed in our actions throughout the day and night.
3. ⁠We intend to serve the Ummah in the best way by focusing on 3 objectives: knowledge, purification, and da’wah.
4. ⁠We intend to seek the pleasure of Allaah and make His messenger ﷺ happy in all that we do.
5. ⁠We intend to attain an increase in presence of heart with Allaah at all times but especially during the prayer, recitation of the Quran, and remembrance.
6. ⁠We intend to establish gatherings with our brothers and sisters who we love for Allaah’s sake.
7. ⁠We intend to fast the 6 days of Shawwāl and other blessed days such as ‘Āshurā, Tāsū’ā, Day of Arafah, and at least 3 days in every month.

May Allaah make this easy for all of us to implement, make us sincere, and accept it from us. Āmeen!

Assalaamu 'alaikum!

As of now, all of the work that Ust. Ashir Kirk do for Measured Tones Institute of Quran is done out of his home with the exception of the Surah Fatihah National Tour. For the past 4+ years, it has had to work because it is the only option that he has. He teaches his classes there, shoots his videos, teaches intensives, you name it. All done right in his living room.

The challenge with that is that he doesn't have a dedicated space in his house for this. He is sharing the space with his family. This has to change. We need a dedicated space and we need your help.

We have acquired a modest 900 sq ft. property that we own outright but requires full renovation. It needs everything- plumbing, electrical, new windows, walls, ceilings, etc. More information about what Measured Tones is all about and more details about our goals with this campaign are in the link.

Was our second place winner but he worked so hard that we decided to get him a PS5 as well. He set up a table at his local masjid and even did a talk and made an appeal after Ishaa on the very last night of the contest. His parents were so proud of how much he did to race to the top, as are we! May Allaah reward for every penny you raise, Yaa Ahmad, and keep you on the straight and narrow!

The son of Shaykh Abdulrashid Sufi passed away. His name is Abdulhamid. Sh. Abdulrashid is one of my favorite reciters and his son recited JUST like him. Maa shaa Allaah. May Allaah place light upon light in his grave and forgive him all of his sins. May He also grant ease to the Sufi family. Yaa Rubb!
