Brister Street Music Festival, aka Bristerfest, is an annual music festival that fosters and enhances local music culture, economy, and the environment of Memphis, Tennessee. Bristerfest derives its name from Brister Street, a block from The University of Memphis, where it was created by college students. Bristerfest exists to fund new and existing urban gardens that encourage communities to grow food promoting a healthy and sustainable lifestyle, and city.

Bristerfest seeks to bring people together for the purpose of experiencing great local food, local music as well as providing an outlet for local vendors supporting community environmental solutions. Proceeds from ticket sales are donated to Memphis Tilth, a local 501©3 Non-Profit dedicated to cultivating collective action for an economically sustainable, socially equitable, environmentally sound local food system.

Focused on becoming the premier environmentally conscious local music festival in Memphis, Bristerfest hopes to attract the best artists, vendors, and musicians of Memphis. Bristerfest features a diverse multi-genre lineup. This past lineups included the best jam, bluegrass, reggae, and latin bands in the city as well as an all hip-hop after party. Local artists can sell their products on site in a Bristerfest vendor marketplace.

Bristerfest is a way for the community to get involved with helping to be a part of a change, while enjoying great local music. Bristerfest is the festival that the city of Memphis can rally behind, musically and environmentally.
