PREP - Pain is Rarely Expressed Properly

So today is a 2 fold day for my family. We are having a small cake & ice cream party for my grandson and also the Wake of my Father in Law.

Me: Hey y’all let’s get started early on this party stuff because I have to make myself available later so I can minister to my husband

Everybody: yes ma’am

Asher: Mama what does that mean? Minister to your husband?

Me: Well son when the husband is dealing with hard stuff in life he needs support. It’s the wife job to support him how he needs it. That’s called ministering to my husband.

Moral of the story: Whoever my son chooses as his life long partner, I hope we have properly prepared him. She can’t come sideways! She got to come straight! 🤷🏽‍♀️

Today is going to be a good day because I decree it to be!

I am one who would be the first to say, I don’t fool with a lot of women because they are messy. But in 2019, that changed for me. I joined a sistHERhood that became an entire community of women who all love God and wanted to serve others. It was great!

Within this amazing Christian sistHERhood called GIRLS, I gained 2 beautiful sisters. There was a total of 11 sisters on the 2019 incoming line aka D-11. But of the 11, Kisha & Lentisha found some human glue from somewhere and glued their hearts to mine 😂 These 2 ladies became my family!

I previously knew Kisha from school but never close enough to even call her an associate let alone call her a friend. Lentisha was a complete stranger. But the 3 of us, united only by our love for Jesus and His people, now bonded together through a covenant established on this side of Heaven, but one that will extend beyond the grave; my eternal sistHERs.

Kisha has moved away and Lentisha recently married, but we never lost connection! We still talk on the phone, text, hang out when they are in town, etc. Today, I shower you both with a million canary roses.

Long Post 🚨

A personal relationship with God is ESSENTIAL in these evil days. First week of January, I had the flu. God literally walked me through it step by step. I appreciate the knowledge of doctors, butbthere comes a point when God is trying to make you AWARE! (If yall missed that word by Dr. Nance 🤷🏽‍♀️) I followed the doctors orders AND Gods order. I had a speedy recovery.

Second week of February, 2 days before my birthday, I’m told you have COVID. With just a stuffy nose. I have COVID. My baby Taleeah had been snotty nosed so I decided to test her at home before going to school Monday just to be safe. So I took a test with her out of support. We were both positive! I just laughed! Neither of us feeling bad or anything, just stuffy noses!

Because of school and work, we had to go to the doctor to get tested to get documentation to be out for isolation. The moment I walked in my house, everything hit me all at once. I went from just a stuffy nose to eyes hurt, chest hurt, shallow breathing, body aches, headache, coughing, & sneezing. God what is this? The first thing that came to mind is how the enemy attacked my husband with a bad case of COVID. I immediately start praying. I was afraid I would overdose because I was taking everything just to find release.

I finally said, God you got to help me! Both nostrils were congested so I had to breathe through my mouth. Doing that was giving me little relief from chest pain! Oh it was horrible. The medication just didn’t seem to be helping me AT ALL! God said, just keep hot fluids moving through your body! Tea and potato soup back to back is what I was doing. Finally my husband called and said, “Baby I’m headed home. What do you need?” I said, more soup and sprite. Just as about half an hour later I heard God said Whiskey and Sweat! (You religious folk, keep scrolling). I quickly called my husband and requested a small whiskey!

I put on layers of clothes while waiting for him to arrive home. He made it around 6pm and he fixed me some hot tea with lemon and honey and I poured some whiskey in it. My husband quickly prayed and left me be. I don’t remember when I fell asleep! But I do know when my 6am alarm went off, i woke up soaking wet with sweat. Let’s just say, my congestion is gone and I’ve been coughing up cold all morning! God teaches us all things!

Sometimes you have to stop and take inventory! Give your brain the validation that it needs! Yes this is hard! Yes you have suffered a lot! This doesn’t make you weak, it’s makes you human! Also it doesn’t mean that your faith is weak, it means your are human! It’s how you REACT to the pain, suffering, loss, etc that determines your faith and who you are!

So I acknowledge:
1. August, the month my daughter got married, I operated on 4-5 hours of sleep
2. September, having another round of COVID did something to my memory, but me and Holyspirit working on it!
3. October, lost my Uncle! A very close uncle & my God Father had a life changing surgery
4. November, had to assist my daughter with my grandbaby who had an ear infection and RSV which meant little rest
5. December, 2 daughters in car accident and my husband loses an uncle.

I give myself permission to acknowledge that these things happened, they are real, I felt each emotion that each thing brought with it!

But God is STILL GOD and therefore I have the victory even in my struggle! 1 Corinthians 15:57

When young people trust the God inside of you, it says a lot! I love who God has made me to be!

Contrary to popular belief: Are you a hypocrite? 🫣

You won’t honor God by giving him your gift to use! Problem is, he gave it to you first? 🤷🏽‍♀️
